That rat bastard! She thought as she watched him stroll out of the room just as though nothing had happened. As if he hadn’t just gotten her so turned on that she thought she’d spontaneously combust and then just…left.

Sofia didn’t think about what she would have done if he’d tried to have sex with her. That would just ruin the fury she was currently riding. She should be relieved he hadn’t tried to force her. She should have been, logically speaking, but she had to admit to herself her overheated body was ready to beg for release and that her traitorous hormones were killing the rational part of her brain. Sofia knew it was crazy, but all she could think about right now was that the most satisfying way to get some relief was under her sexy captor. It was an issue that only got worse as he walked back into the room with a tray of food and all that beautiful, tanned bare skin.

“Here, let me help you sit up so you can eat,” he said, putting the tray down on the nightstand and moving closer, “Or would you rather wash up and use the bathroom first?”

“Bathroom first, please,” she said immediately, thinking she could follow his lead and get some satisfaction while cleaning up.

But clearly her eagerness must have given her away because he raised one eyebrow in challenge.

“Okay, but you have ten minutes to shower, and you are not allowed to touch yourself other than to get clean―am I understood?” he said in a firm tone as he leaned forward and undid her wrists.

“You’re going to watch me?” she asked, not quite certain if she was offended or turned on at the prospect. She wondered for a second why his firm tone seemed to excite her more than it should have.

“Do you want me to watch you?” he whispered low next to her ear, causing awareness to spread through her entire body.

Sofia was a little breathless at the thought of putting on the same show for him as he did for her, but in the end, her pride won out over the wanton need she felt inside.

“No,” she barely answered, and it sounded weak even to her ears.

His deep chuckle at her answer made her nipples peak even more, and she was almost disappointed when he leaned back and pushed the timer on his watch.

“You’ve got ten minutes, Sofia. Then I come in and get you.”

Sofia had never used the washroom and showered so fast in all her life, she got done with barely a minute to spare as she put her bra and underwear back on and then wrapped herself in a big fluffy towel before she walked back out into the room.

“You can keep the towel until you’ve eaten, then it’s off,” he said once he saw her.

She’d take that small win, and she took her sweet ass time eating as well until he finally took the tray away after she’d spent five minutes chewing a single piece of melon.

“Now are you going to make this difficult on both of us or are you going to behave?” he said as he motioned toward the wrist cuffs once again.

She thought about it, but there was nothing she could do against his superior strength, so she begrudgingly laid back against the padded headboard and raised her wrists.

“Why are you doing this?” she asked quietly. “I told you everything I know already.”

“Well, I’ll see about that soon enough, won’t I?” was all he said in reply as he fastened the cuffs and picked up the tray before he left the room.

By the time Eitan had gotten the kitchen cleaned up from breakfast and returned to the bedroom, he was already half hard from replaying how she’d looked watching him come in the shower. He thought about putting on a pair of jeans, but why bother? He certainly wasn’t ashamed for her to see how she affected him and she sure as hell didn’t seem to be put off by his body, so he may as well use that to his advantage, right?

“Ready for the ankle cuffs?” he asked as he entered the room.

He saw her swallow hard and move her legs tighter together.

“Why do you have to?” she asked with a worried look. “Are you going to touch me?”

“You don’t want me to touch you?” he challenged, already knowing her body didn’t have any arguments.

“Of course I don’t want you to touch me!” she answered, clearly trying to sound offended that he’d suggest such a thing, “I don’t even know your name!”

“Well, that’s easy enough to remedy,” he said as he placed one knee on the bed and pulled up the first ankle cuff. “My name is Eitan. Now give me your leg, Sofia.”

He could tell she was surprised he’d given her his name, and to be truthful, he was a bit surprised by that himself. But the more he thought about his name on her lips as she moaned her pleasure, the harder his cock got. He was doing all sorts of things with this little captive that seemed to be breaking his rules, and Eitan wasn’t sure he really cared.

When she tentatively placed her little foot in his hand, he quickly attached the cuff and then slowly ran his fingers over the softness of her skin. Clearly she waxed her legs as the skin was still supple and hair free. That thought made him more aware of the noticeably smooth skin under those pretty purple panties, and his mouth watered as he imagined how soft it would feel under his tongue. As he fastened the second cuff and her legs moved further apart, it was all he could do not to crawl up her body and relieve her of those panties just as he’d fantasized about doing in the shower this morning. It was then that he finally had to admit to himself that this interrogation was probably going to be more difficult for him than it was going to be for her…because his self-control was already bucking to be let loose.

When she stepped out of the bathroom, Donovan and Jason were waiting for her in the bedroom. Donovan sat at the edge of the king-sized bed while Jason looked at her from the armchair next to it. She didn’t miss the fact that they both ogled her bare legs as she stepped closer to them. She felt her entire body heat up from the intensity of their stares.

“I like the way my shirt looks on you, angel.” Donovan’s voice was low and husky. He got up suddenly from the bed to stand in front of her. “Talk to us, April. Please.”

“How could the two of you still possibly want me?” April’s words came out rushed and strangled. She closed her eyes, swallowing the rest of the speech she had prepared for them as if her vocal cords stubbornly refused to say goodbye to them.

“Cut that shit out, April,” Jason bellowed before he, too, stood before her. She flinched at the harshness of his tone. “I’m the one who failed you. Not the other way around.”

“How can you say that? It was me Kheelan was after all this time. Not you. He took Dee and God knows how many others, all to get to me. Oh God, Dee! Have they found her yet?”

“No,” Donovan said quietly. “But we will. I swear it.”

“He’ll just keep coming for me.” She reached out and placed her hand on Jason’s cheek. “I felt so helpless when you were in that cell. I can’t bear the thought of him hurting you like that again.” She turned to Donovan and put her other hand on his cheek. “And it’s not only Jason’s screams I dreamt about. Sometimes it was you I pictured Kheelan torturing. I’d rather die than to ever let him get his hands on either of you. Not when I can prevent it.” She took a deep steady breath. Her words would not fail her this time. “You both have to let me go.”

“Fuck that!” Jason growled. Before she even had time to blink, she found herself tossed on the bed. Her hands were held above her head by Donovan while Jason fiercely, unyieldingly took her mouth in a fiery kiss. She returned it with the same fervor, unable to help herself.

April had no time to think, to collect her thoughts, for as soon as Jason released her lips, Donovan took his place. He released the grip he had on her wrists, but instead of pushing him away, she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her. She’d only had a brief taste of him when he came to rescue her from the dungeons, so this felt like their first real kiss. She found her resolve quickly fading because she sensed their pain at the thought of her leaving them. She knew she didn’t have the strength to walk away from them on her own, and it seemed that neither of her stubborn men was willing to let her go.

When Donovan ended their kiss, he looked deeply into her eyes and cradled her face. Like that first night with Jason, she felt as if he could see the inside of her soul. He wasn’t repulsed by her or angry. Instead, he looked at her with longing and adoration.

“That’s not the way this works, my angel. Whatever happens to one of us, happens to all three.”

“And we would chase you to the ends of the Earth, April,” Jason added. “So don’t even think about running from us.”

“Let us show you how much we want you, angel.” Donovan nuzzled her ear as he spoke.

“Yes,” she whispered, closing her eyes, prompting Donovan to continue with his assault on her ear. He licked her inner shell then proceeded to torment her ear with soft bites and kisses, eliciting a few successive moans from her. He moved onto to delivering the same attention to her neck while Jason’s warm hands caressed her bare legs.

Donovan cupped her face. She opened up her eyes for a brief moment and saw him hovering over her. His lips quirked in an adorable sly smile before he pressed them to hers. He kissed her softly at first, their tongues barely touching, but when she hugged him to her tightly, he deepened the kiss, moaning into her mouth. His hand cupped her breast over the thick sweatshirt, but she felt it searing into her skin as if she had been wearing nothing at all.

She felt Jason shift in between her legs. His hands roamed up her thighs, and under her shirt, stopping at her hips. He placed his forehead on her lower stomach. “Do you have any idea how difficult it has been lying here, not touching you, knowing you had nothing underneath this sweatshirt?” His voice, muffled by said shirt, sounded strained.

Donovan hummed in agreement and moved on to kissing her neck. She nudged him a little so that he could give her room to sit up. She then lifted her hands in the air. It didn’t take long for them to catch her meaning. Donovan peeled off the sweatshirt from her body, slowly revealing every naked inch of her to their gaze.

Hello there, you’d think that writing the “about” info on myself would be the easy part of this exercise but wow. Not so much. I’ve only been writing stories for the last couple of years, I’ve been a huge fan of science fiction and romance novels for a long time and one day my over active imagination just wouldn’t seem to quit so I got on the computer, started typing and eventually ended up with my first book! It’s an odd career turn for me as I also currently work in an office in an accounting capacity, but I’ve also been a pastry chef as well so perhaps this is a little closer to getting back to the creative outlet that I’ve been missing. It’s great to be able to put little pieces of yourself into these heroines that you perhaps don’t get to show the world or even wish you were more like, its a liberating experience. At the same time, writing is such a personal thing that putting yourself out there to the world to be judged by publishers, reviewers, readers, basically everyone that reads your work is a really scary thing for a lot of people. It was a terrifying thing for me and I am grateful that I have some very supportive family and friends, thank you most of all to Marissa who has always been there right from the start no matter what I put in front of her to read!

I currently live in British Columbia, I’m a bit of a hobby-a-holic. At the moment I am obsessed with scarf knitting, to the point that I had to open my own Etsy store to unload my stock pile of scarfs….I mean how many scarfs can a girl really justify keeping for herself? I also am a painter, mostly abstract in acrylics. With the pastry arts background I spend a decent amount of time still creating recipes and baking, much to the delight of my co-workers who I use as lab taste testers, I love making home made chocolates as well. In the spring and summer I love to plant things and tinker in the garden, and spending time with friends and family.

CHASING FAETE is Book 1 in the Beyond the Veil series by Elena Kincaid, Maia Dylan and Sarah Marsh, and it begins spectacularly well. From the inner thoughts of Erica, the fae running from the Fae King, to wolf shifter brothers, Leo and Ben, her mates, who stumble upon her scent during a routine patrol, this was a great read from start to finish. I will admit that seeing three authors on this story made me pause. In my reading experience, I’ve found that when there’s more than one author, it’s often easy to discern the different writers within the story, which I find a distraction. But in this case, if all three actively contributed content, the blending is relatively seamless and I loved much of the imagery. There are so many good aspects to this story, from Erica’s healer skills as fae (and royalty) to the brothers’ need to protect someone who clearly doesn’t need much protecting, the interactions between all the characters significantly upped my entertainment level as I was led on an emotional ride that kept me turning those pages. Unfortunately, war is brewing and with all good stories, evil must perish so that our heroes/heroine may have their happily ever after. But do they? What lines are willingly crossed in order to save so many? When the story ends, there are secrets still hidden. AND…since this IS an erotic romance, I will add that the sensual scenes between Erica, Leo and Ben are fantastic and I will admit to reading this story twice before writing this review. This has all the ingredients for a great story: fae, shifters, chemistry, well-drawn up characters, drama, grief, war, and scintillating scenes. SURRENDER by Sarah Marsh is a science fiction romance that will leave you wishing for more. When we meet Sally Owens, she’s just waking up from what she thinks is a “hangover to end all hangovers”. As the story begins, she’s replaying the events of the night before in her head. Except that she can’t remember parts of the night and oh yea, she isn’t on earth anymore. Sally and her best friend, Evie, were kidnapped by an intergalactic slave trader, but they were rescued before anything bad could happen. The bad news is that they can’t go home again. The good news is that there are delicious looking men who are more than happy to fill their lives with pleasure. When Sally is given the option to choose her future career, she chooses the Courtesan Guild and her training begins under the helpful tutelage of Arkenon, the guild master. This story was grand fun and I thoroughly enjoyed Sally’s struggles as she learned to let go, trust others and be honest with herself. And the way Arkenon goes about teaching her will leave you breathless for more. Lovers of sci fi erotica will enjoy this heady blending of the two genres into a well-told story that will have you wishing for more.

Book Five in my Coalition Mates series has been rumbling around in my head for months now, as well as book six, but I’ve been so busy with other projects this year! I am currently about halfway done, so I’m hoping to have it out this fall….but these dang dragons can be tricky!

Book five starts out on Sirus where we left Sally and Arkenon in book 4, Surrender. Sally is settling comfortably in her new role as Courtesan Guild Matron and has been trying to get the rest of her fellow Earth refugees set up with their new lives.

Marisol is a little older than most of the other women who were abducted. She’s a capable, mature woman who’s had enough of letting others hold her back from what she wants in life.

Now that Marisol has found herself on a whole new planet, the possibilities to have what she’s always dreamed of are right there in front of her. No exhausting relationships or pesky man-opause to deal with, she can finally build the family she’s always wanted.

Luca and Baelion are dragon shifters with a tortured past, no longer fit to return to their home on Dali. They’ve been working for the Coalition Council and trying not to dwell on the life the can no longer have.

But life in the stars seems to rarely end up the way they plan, and when Marisol finds herself in a horrific situation, the two men who rescue her just might ruin all her best laid plans…in the most delicious of ways.

Here’s a little excerpt for you:

“Sally,” Mari whispered furiously as she watched the Dolovian ambassador exit his ship and walk towards them, in all his flaming red glory, “Sally, I thought you said that they looked like us!”

Sally responded with a tight smile, still looking perfect as the Guild representative to greet the new arrival.

“I’m pretty sure I said mostly, that they mostly looked like us Mari,” she whispered back out of the side of her mouth, smile never wavering, “and they do… mostly, sheesh Mar, don’t be so racist.”

“But he’s red,” she answered back, trying not to panic, “how am I supposed to blend in well on their planet, I’ll be fucking fluorescent!”

It wasn’t that Mari had any issue with his race, but her entire plan was to get this done so she could raise a family on her own. She had to think about her children’s safety first, there had already been numerous attempts on the lives of the other human women by factions that were against mixing their alien DNA with other species. How safe would her family be on a planet where they stuck out like a sore thumb?

With that Sally did do a cursory look up and down over at Marisol, then she just shrugged.

“Meh, we’ll get you a spray tan.” She said before walking towards the group in front of them, “Gentlemen, on behalf of the Courtesan Guild let me welcome you!”

Mari followed Sally and her two guards forward, she wondered for a moment where Kali was as she usually didn’t leave Sally’s side, but there had been some mention yesterday of the Dolovian’s and the Tokka having a not so friendly history.

“Guild Matron,” the oddly handsome red alien came forward and placed a kiss on Sally’s hand, “what an honor to have you greet us. Councilman Trikna is very eager for the inspection, he sends his regrets that he could not be here himself, but he is quite busy with Coalition business.”

“Of course Delegate Bromm,” Sally answered as she stepped back and motioned Mari forward, “Let me introduce you to the reason that you are here, this is Marisol Lewis.”

“Hello,” Mari smiled trying not to feel like a slab of meat as the delegate looked her over in a rather creepy manner.

“She is quite striking even for her age…”

What now? Did that smarmy bastard just call me old?

Sally must have seen the storm brewing in Mari’s eyes as she stepped back up towards them both.

“Marisol is a fine example of our human genetics Delegate,” Sally answered, the chill in her own voice conveying that she hadn’t cared for Bromm’s comment either, “while she may be more mature than a typical donor of this type, I assure you her life experience will only be an asset.”

“Yes, of course,” he answered, reaching out to stroke along Mari’s arm, “our medical staff has assured me that they will be able to correct any cellular degradation her advanced age may cause.”

Mari pulled away from his touch, she was used to people putting on airs and trying to act superior, hell the doctors at the hospital she’d worked at had done it all the time back on Earth. But as a surgical nurse, it was her job to speak up when she needed to, people’s lives counted on it, so her shy days had been over long ago. This little bastard? Well Mari had no problem bringing this male down a peg or two.

“Delegate Bromm,” she began, looking him straight in the eyes, “if you have an issue with my advanced age, as you called it, then tell us here and now. I think we both know how many others would be more than willing to get their hands on my genetic material, so if Councilman Trikna isn’t interested, don’t waste my time.”

She was well rewarded with the muscle tick at the males brow, Mari knew from her research on Dolovia that they were a male dominated species but that shit wasn’t going to fly with her. It was best that he learned it now if she had to live on the planet for years under their protection.

“We accept the contract,” he finally answered stiffly, “you have five hours to prepare before the ship leaves. It will take us three days to reach your new home.”

With that, he turned and retreated back to his ship.

“Well,” Sally turned back to Mari with a grin, “that was a complete cluster-fuck. I bet you one hundred credits he’s filing a complaint against us with my husband as we speak. He was a bit of a dick, right?”

“Yes, he was,” Mari answered hoping like hell the rest of the Dolovian population was nicer than that or the next decade or so for her was going to be rather unpleasant.

“We’d better go get you packed up,” Sally said, linking her arm through Mari’s as they left the hangar, “I’ll come with you to tell Devyn the news…there’s going to be a lot of crying. And Mari, don’t worry about what they look like. You’ve forgotten that they’ll be used to having a variety of species living amongst them, you’re still thinking like you’re living on Earth.”

“Yeah, of course you’re right,” she felt like an idiot for her momentary panic at the sight of him, “it was just a shock. I haven’t seen any of his species before in person. They’re quite a bit, well, brighter, than in the pictures.”

“Well I bet he’s making a similar complaint, only that us Earth females are bitchier than they’d heard about,” Sally laughed out loud as they made their way back to her offices, “But seriously Mari, are you sure you want to do this?”

Was she sure? Marisol had to remember her end game here, a three day trip to a new planet, a few doctors appointments and then she’d be free to finally begin a new life with a new family all her own. She didn’t care if she had to live on a planet filled with rhyming, orange oompa loompas, she was going to get the child she wanted no matter what.

“Why don’t I draw you a nice hot bath to help you relax?” Ben suggested to Erica as soon as Leo left to seek out Gabe. The Alpha was gracious enough to give up his room, a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. Both the bathtub and the shower were large enough to fit at least three people comfortably. Perhaps Gabe prepared for his own hopeful future, he thought.

“Only if you join me,” Erica pleaded. There was no trace of seductive humor in her voice. “I don’t want to be alone right now.”

“Come here, love.” He beckoned, holding out his hand for her to take. When she reached him, he enfolded her in his arms and whispered in her ear, “You don’t have to be alone ever again. We’ve got you.”

When he released her, he gently led her by the hand into the bathroom. He sat on the edge of the tub and started the water. Once the temperature was to his liking, he stood up, firmly cupped Erica’s cheeks, and kissed her slowly, deeply. Then he let his hands trail gently down her sides until they reached the hem of her shirt. Only then did he break apart from their kiss, just long enough to lift her shirt over her head. He deftly removed her bra, unzipping her jeans as well as his own before he needed to release her lips once again. If he got to love her for a thousand lifetimes, he’d still never tire of the taste of her sweet berry-flavored lips.

Ben steadily held her gaze as he dropped to his knees in front of her to remove her shoes and socks and then finally her jeans and underwear. Ignoring the sound of the door quietly opening and closing—he knew his brother was now their audience—Ben let go in sync with Erica. His loud groan would surely have been heard throughout the house had it not been muffled by Erica’s neck. His sexy pixie, however, was not so quiet. The echo of her desperate cries must have resonated at least down the hallway. Perhaps everyone was still downstairs, but either way, he couldn’t bring himself to care after what the two of them just shared.

He held her tightly for a few moments more, knowing that she needed Leo, too. It was Ben’s turn now to relax and just admire the view.

Leo stepped into the bathroom and closed the door, not able to take his eyes from the beauty before him. His mate had her head thrown back, an expression of sheer rapture on her face as she found her pleasure, and the sounds of her passion were the sweetest music to his ears.

He stepped up to the bath and turned off the running water before there was even more of it on the floor. He understood very well how his brother hadn’t noticed the mess.

“Oh crap, the water,” Ben said once he’d noticed the sloshing sound of Leo’s steps.

“Yes, brother, seems you were seduced by a mermaid. I can see how you’d lose track of the rest of the world.” Leo smiled down at Erica as he cupped her cheek with his hand and leaned in for a gentle kiss. “How are you feeling, love?”

“Better now that you’re here as well.” Erica kissed him back with a heat that had him growling low in the back of his throat.

“Stand up, little one,” Leo ordered as he took a step back and watched the water slip off of her perfect, creamy curves.

He held out his hand to her, and when she accepted it, he helped her step out of the tub and onto the warm tile.

“Oh, you’re in for it now, pixie. I’ve seen that look before.” Ben laughed as he sat back in the tub with a sigh.

Leo tried not to smile when their mate’s eyes opened a little wider in concern, but he wanted to keep her off balance for this. They’d both enjoy it more.

“Now, undress me.”

ANSWER FROM FIONA – Hi Sarah! I have to be honest with you it’s still pretty damn shocking to me that I ended up with not one, but two of the Winters brothers! But to answer your question, the best thing about having them both to myself, well, apart from the obvious physical benefits, it’s knowing that they love me for who I am, and will always have my back no matter what. Hell, they even gave of their own life’s energy to save me! ANSWER FROM ROWENA – Hello Avril, this is a great question and I feel that this is definitely the question for me to answer. Frustration is an emotion that occurs in situations where a person is blocked from reaching a desired outcome. We feel pleased and satisfied whenever we achieve that desired outcome but frustration rears its head when we are prevented from reaching our goals We may feel irritable, annoyed and angry. Typically –

Finn’s eyes narrowed again. “Is that what you want?”

Devon lifted his arms, running a frustrated hand through his hair. “No! Yes! Shit, Finn, I’m trying so fucking hard to be stoic and not make this about what I want.”

“But that’s what I’m asking you, Dev. I’m asking what do you want?” Finn stepped closer until their chests were almost touching, and Devon’s tenuous hold on his control snapped.

The black leather pants, skin tight black, long sleeved shirt, and black boots were already part of his wardrobe. He went sans the long black coat because Jordan needed it for his costume. In addition to Kane’s coat, Jordan wore black slacks, a ribbed black undershirt and black boots with buckles on them. When he put on his dark aviators, his Neo from The Matrix look was complete.
