CHASING FAETE is Book 1 in the Beyond the Veil series by Elena Kincaid, Maia Dylan and Sarah Marsh, and it begins spectacularly well. From the inner thoughts of Erica, the fae running from the Fae King, to wolf shifter brothers, Leo and Ben, her mates, who stumble upon her scent during a routine patrol, this was a great read from start to finish. I will admit that seeing three authors on this story made me pause. In my reading experience, I’ve found that when there’s more than one author, it’s often easy to discern the different writers within the story, which I find a distraction. But in this case, if all three actively contributed content, the blending is relatively seamless and I loved much of the imagery. There are so many good aspects to this story, from Erica’s healer skills as fae (and royalty) to the brothers’ need to protect someone who clearly doesn’t need much protecting, the interactions between all the characters significantly upped my entertainment level as I was led on an emotional ride that kept me turning those pages. Unfortunately, war is brewing and with all good stories, evil must perish so that our heroes/heroine may have their happily ever after. But do they? What lines are willingly crossed in order to save so many? When the story ends, there are secrets still hidden. AND…since this IS an erotic romance, I will add that the sensual scenes between Erica, Leo and Ben are fantastic and I will admit to reading this story twice before writing this review. This has all the ingredients for a great story: fae, shifters, chemistry, well-drawn up characters, drama, grief, war, and scintillating scenes. SURRENDER by Sarah Marsh is a science fiction romance that will leave you wishing for more. When we meet Sally Owens, she’s just waking up from what she thinks is a “hangover to end all hangovers”. As the story begins, she’s replaying the events of the night before in her head. Except that she can’t remember parts of the night and oh yea, she isn’t on earth anymore. Sally and her best friend, Evie, were kidnapped by an intergalactic slave trader, but they were rescued before anything bad could happen. The bad news is that they can’t go home again. The good news is that there are delicious looking men who are more than happy to fill their lives with pleasure. When Sally is given the option to choose her future career, she chooses the Courtesan Guild and her training begins under the helpful tutelage of Arkenon, the guild master. This story was grand fun and I thoroughly enjoyed Sally’s struggles as she learned to let go, trust others and be honest with herself. And the way Arkenon goes about teaching her will leave you breathless for more. Lovers of sci fi erotica will enjoy this heady blending of the two genres into a well-told story that will have you wishing for more.

Her eyes opening shocked him. Lucian stood rapidly and darted to the doorway, hoping his speed had stopped her from seeing him. He sped into the living area and headed to the front door. Amy’s voice ground him to a halt before he reached it.

“What the hell are you doing inside my apartment?” she asked angrily.

Lucian turned. How had she gotten to the entrance hall so quickly? His speed was unmatched, and there was no way she could have gotten out of bed and walked there as quickly as he’d moved. Lucian saw the anger in her expression. He winced.

“I’m sorry. I….”

“Don’t. Just don’t. First you try and kill me. Then you all but drag me from the club. What am I? Some kind of obsession for you? What next? Strangle me while I sleep. Get out!”

“Amy. Please. I don’t want to hurt you. I came here to help protect you,” Lucian said, hoping more than anything their confrontation hadn’t woken her friend.

“You broke into my apartment. For all I know, you could be some kind of serial killer. Get out before I call the police,” Amy demanded.

“Amy. Please don’t be afraid… I,” Lucian said, taking a step closer to her.

Amy step backward. Her gazed bored straight into him, and if it were laced with poison, he’d be dead where he stood.

“Afraid. I’m not afraid. I’m damn well livid. How do you know my name? Why are you following me?” Amy asked.

Lucian glanced down at her hands. They were clasped tight enough for her knuckles to glare white. It was another visual sign of her anger toward him. “My name is Lucian Dark. I didn’t mean to break in, but you need to come with me. The males who were at the club want to take you. I want to help keep you safe,” he explained quickly.

He watched Amy’s reaction closely. Her defiant stance was unmoving, and she was good at guarding her emotions.

“I don’t care who you are. You broke into my apartment, so ‘didn’t mean to’ isn’t quite the truth, is it? I want you to leave me alone. I’m not going anywhere with you, and I don’t need anyone to keep me safe. I asked you to leave,” Amy said, more calmly.

“You don’t understand…,” Lucian began.

“No. You don’t understand. I don’t need anyone’s help. You appeared to deal with those males effectively. Go do whatever it is you do and leave me the hell alone,” she said.

Lucian watched the female take a step backward. He frowned. “You know who I am, don’t you?”

“I know what you are. For all I know you could be working with them. You best leave,” Amy said.

“I’m not going anywhere. I have nothing to do with those males. Do you know who they are?” Lucian asked, taking a step forward.

“No.”

Lucian sensed Amy knew exactly who the males at the club were. She had no intention of revealing anything. She was still obviously angry, but at least her tone had calmed. Maybe she would allow him to speak to her. Maybe, just maybe, he had a chance at convincing her to go with them.

Before he could answer, Lucian’s control broke. He reached forward and pressed his body against her. Her skin felt smooth and delicious against his, and his lust for her soared through him. Please tell us about your latest book.

This book delves into the life of Lucian, one of the lords of the Mist. He meets Amy Jackson and becomes obsessed with who she really is. She’d hiding something, and doesn’t want to put others at risk but he knows he has to do everything he can to protect her. Will he reject her when he finds out the truth?

This book was so much fun to write. Amy’s character is defiant and strong willed, and it was so enjoyable writing the scenes of her and Lucian’s confrontations. They are battling between desire for each other, and at the same time keeping themselves from getting involved. I found balancing their love for each other, and their desire to deny their future, a challenge.

2. How do we find out about you and your books?

3. Why did you decide to write romance novels?

I’ve read paranormal romance books for years after being introduced to them by my twin sister. I especially love Laurann Dohner books and decided one day to put my ideas down on paper. Once I started to write, it was like a buzz that I couldn’t stop until I had finished my first book. Now I’ve just submitted my 6^th and my love of writing is still as strong.

4. How much of your personality and life experiences are in your writing?

Writing paranormal genre allows you to put in some personal life experiences but it can also allow you the freedom to be creative. I love being able to create personalities for characters that are fun and interesting but also dark and mysterious.

5. Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?

I don’t have a schedule as such, I just write whenever I get the chance. In between family and work, I usually get to write at the end of the day when it’s peaceful.

6. What do you do to relax and recharge your batteries?

I love to relax by reading my Kindle where I have lots of my favourite author’s books. I usually start reading and keep going until I’ve read the whole series.

7. Do you feel humour is important in women’s fiction and why?

I feel it’s important for readers to relate to the characters in the book and humour is a good way to create enjoyment. If a character is cheeky or sarcastic, in a nice way, what better way to engage a reader and make them want to know more about the characters.

8. What are your thoughts on love scenes in romance novels, do you find them difficult to write?

I don’t find them too difficult to write. Sometimes I need to edit to ensure I don’t make them too long or repetitive. I always try to make them different so the readers are not reading the same words or sentences over and over. I make them emotionally descriptive to help the readers sense the passion.

9. What kind of research do you do?

I research a lot on settings and characters visually to help my writing to be more descriptive. I find this helps the readers to really visualize as they read.

10. Do you have a favorite author? Favorite book?

My favourite author is Laurann Dohner and my favourite book is Braun. She is an amazing author and is able to create emotionally intense scenes of possession but can also make you laugh. Her characters are interesting and powerful which makes her stories fun to read.

11. Have you always wanted to be a writer?

I have always enjoyed reading but never thought of myself as a writer. Now I have written 6 novels, I can never imagine not wanting to ever stop writing now.

12. How many books have you written, and how many of those have been published?

I’ve written 6 books and they have been published straight away. I’m hoping the following books in the series will also have the privilege of being published.

13. Have you experienced writer’s block—> If so, how did you work through it?

I have hit writer’s block in the middle of the books. I left them for a few days and returned to them. I re-read a few chapters and find things that didn’t sound right and this helped me move forward with the stories.

14. What is the most rewarding thing about being a writer?

Completing a book full of fun, love and intense desire is exciting. Being able to give readers enjoyment from reading a great story is immensely rewarding.

15. Are there any words of encouragement for unpublished writers?

Don’t ever give up. Sometimes it’s difficult but believe in the ideas you have. If you love it, others will too. Join readers groups, it’s a great way to interact and get ideas and support.

“I hate swimming.” Talia plopped on her back on the hard, packed dirt at the lake’s edge. Droplets of water glistened on still sun-bronzed skin, even as the world inched toward winter.

“I know how you feel,” Hayden said as he lay on his side next to her, his head held up by a bent arm. With his free hand, he pushed her wet locks behind her ear, letting his fingers glide along the soft silk of her cheek. “You are so beautiful,” he whispered, his gaze holding on to those mesmerizing eyes he could not get enough of.

“You don’t shrink from my eyes, my dominance.” She arched up, as if offering her firm, cream-puff breasts to him to worship. He bit his cheek to stop from leaning over and taking the gift he wanted with every fiber of his being.

“Why?” she continued.

He wanted to tell her the truth, to show her who he was and how good they could be together. But too much was riding on the plan. “I respect strength in any form.”

Her voice lowered, husky, seductive but also a little sad. “I like it. It makes me want things I thought I could do without.” She pushed the strap off her left shoulder exposing one creamy breast, the rose pink nipple bullet hard. “I can’t anymore.” She snaked one hand through his hair and led his mouth to her exposed peak. “I know you want this.”

The spicy scent of her arousal was an aphrodisiac, weaving through his senses, tensing his body until he thought he’d snap if he didn’t take her. Weakened by desire, he didn’t resist the treat teasing his lips. He lapped the peak with his tongue, then lashed and suckled it harder or softer, in response to Talia’s throaty moans. The salty sweet taste of her skin was a delicacy he’d been dreaming about sampling for so long.

Her hand stroked the skin on his back. Her thigh rubbed against his thickening erection, until he howled. “Pleasure me.” It was an order.

The authority in her voice hit him like a bucket of ice water. “Not now, not like this.” He moved away, and pulled the strap back up her arm. She was so surprised she let him.

“You’re turning me down?” Anger punctuated her words, but the longing in her eyes told another story. “It’s been so long since someone touched me,” she murmured, as if she forgot his hearing picked up every whisper, exposing her vulnerability to him, a gift he would treasure and protect.

“No, not at all.” He gripped her chin in his hands. “I intend to make love to you. Hard and fast. Slow and easy. Over and over again.”

Her eyes widened, and she swallowed hard. “Why not now?”

The yearning in her voice almost broke him. Her longing for touch washed over him, called to him, but he wouldn’t settle for just a physical coupling. Her beasts would never accept a non-dominant mate.

“I say when,” he said fiercely against her throat before licking gently at the pulse throbbing in the carotid artery. “I say how, and for how long.”

His hands stroked gently down her arms, calming her anger, as he flamed his own passion. Reaching to the steel-hard discipline that allowed him to survive, he nipped her neck and pulled away.

“Still no kiss?” Talia arched up again, her face flushed with hunger.

He shook his head, stood up and pulled her up with him. “We head back.” He was playing a dangerous game. If he could not win her love by the next full moon, he’d earn her hatred forever.

Before she could catch her breath at his nearness he’d slipped her bag from her shoulders with one hand and caught her hip with the other. “Stop taking risks,” he added, the order roughened by a distantly familiar thickness to his voice that sent shivers of anticipation down her spine. Before she could process what he was doing he’d tugged her up against his chest and caught her lips in a hard kiss.

Belle moaned as he plunged his tongue into her mouth, demanding and teasing at the same time. He kissed her like a man starved, winding both arms around her as she kissed him back. Her skin burned beneath his heavy, heated touch and she threaded her fingers through his hair. It was thick and soft, exactly the way she remembered. He rolled his tongue over hers, stroking and sliding, reminding her body of exactly what he was capable of. Heat pooled low in her belly and she leaned into him instinctively.

Hello again! Thank you so much for having me back! This time I’m here to tell you about the latest installment in my Night Shadows series: Stayed for Alpha!

Excerpt:

But when was the last time Rogues traveled in groups? Maybe that was the problem. Dylan was obviously Rogue. That alone would give most wolves reason to be cautious. Brody and Camila were followers. Gammas. Their attaching themselves to a stronger wolf made sense. And if Dylan had Alpha in him, his acceptance of them would make sense, too. But he swore he didn’t.

Adam just wasn’t sure whether or not he believed that.

As he watched, Dylan leaned a little too far into Whitney’s personal space and Whitney recoiled. Adam felt a surge of possessiveness flare inside him. Dylan was flirting with her and it pissed him off. Fortunately, Whitney’s rejection of those advances was fairly obvious. Except, apparently, to Dylan.

Dylan’s arm extended as though he were reaching for her and Whitney moved fluidly to her feet. Out of reach.

Adam took a step forward on instinct.

“Hey, Dylan,” Jim called from the grill a heartbeat later. He gestured with the tongs he held. “Why don’t I show you how to work this thing?”

That was probably for the best. Although if Adam’s possessive instincts didn’t cool off, Dylan’s time with them would have to be cut short.

Whitney used the opportunity to extract herself from the others and strode toward him purposefully. She stepped right into his personal space like she belonged there. “Kiss me,” she breathed. “Make a scene.”

Adam didn’t really need to be asked, but he didn’t bother to explain that, either. Instead he wrapped his arms around her waist and hauled her up to his lips. His tongue slipped into her mouth without resistance and Whitney’s hands dug into his shoulders as she held onto him. He nearly growled against her lips. Suddenly he felt like he’d been starving for her, and it was harder than it should have been to keep the kiss from leading somewhere.

He was hard and suitably breathless when the kiss broke. The sound of her own uneven breathing drew a brief grin from him. Until he remembered the reason for her demand. “Was Dylan bothering you?” he asked, voice low so as not to carry.

Whitney laid her head on his shoulder, face turned in so that she could talk quietly. “More like annoying. I’m hoping he’ll take the hint.”

Doing his best to smother his growl, Adam bent his head and traced his lips along her slender throat. “We’ll just keep reinforcing it.” Right then, right in that moment, Adam would have marked her as his just to keep her safe from another wolf’s harassment. As it was, he vowed that for as long as she was his he’d make sure his scent lingered on her skin. Thick enough that no wolf with half a nose could miss it.

“Are you sure about including them?” Whitney asked, drawing him out of his lust-induced frenzy. Mostly.

Adam frowned and lifted his head so that his chin rested on her head. She fit perfectly against him. Slender and soft, a good head shorter. Perfect for holding in his arms and wrapping himself around. But this wasn’t the time to be thinking about those things. Those might be things best left unexplored, even. “I’m reserving judgment. I have to consider it, at least.”

“Why don’t I draw you a nice hot bath to help you relax?” Ben suggested to Erica as soon as Leo left to seek out Gabe. The Alpha was gracious enough to give up his room, a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. Both the bathtub and the shower were large enough to fit at least three people comfortably. Perhaps Gabe prepared for his own hopeful future, he thought.

“Only if you join me,” Erica pleaded. There was no trace of seductive humor in her voice. “I don’t want to be alone right now.”

“Come here, love.” He beckoned, holding out his hand for her to take. When she reached him, he enfolded her in his arms and whispered in her ear, “You don’t have to be alone ever again. We’ve got you.”

When he released her, he gently led her by the hand into the bathroom. He sat on the edge of the tub and started the water. Once the temperature was to his liking, he stood up, firmly cupped Erica’s cheeks, and kissed her slowly, deeply. Then he let his hands trail gently down her sides until they reached the hem of her shirt. Only then did he break apart from their kiss, just long enough to lift her shirt over her head. He deftly removed her bra, unzipping her jeans as well as his own before he needed to release her lips once again. If he got to love her for a thousand lifetimes, he’d still never tire of the taste of her sweet berry-flavored lips.

Ben steadily held her gaze as he dropped to his knees in front of her to remove her shoes and socks and then finally her jeans and underwear. He could not resist inhaling the sweet and tangy scent of her arousal. He spread her pussy lips with his thumbs and flicked his tongue over her clit. One of Erica’s hands grabbed onto his shoulder for balance, while the other fisted in his hair. She panted heavily as he continued to tease her little bundle of nerves.

As much as he relished in the taste of her, this was not the time to tease. He needed her, to feel himself inside of her while shutting all the danger looming over them out.

He stood abruptly, lifted Erica to straddle his waist, and stepped into the tub. As soon as he sat down, she took him inside of her, both of them moaning loudly at the contact. The sounds of the faucet still running and water sloshing to their fast paced rhythm intermingled with their loud moans and heavy breathing.

Erica’s eyes rolled back, forcing her to close them. He felt her walls tighten even further, squeezing, urging him to come with her. When she threw her head back, he buried his face in the crook of her neck and wrapped his arms tightly around her.

Ignoring the sound of the door quietly opening and closing—he knew his brother was now their audience—Ben let go in sync with Erica. His loud groan would surely have been heard throughout the house had it not been muffled by Erica’s neck. His sexy pixie, however, was not so quiet. The echo of her desperate cries must have resonated at least down the hallway. Perhaps everyone was still downstairs, but either way, he couldn’t bring himself to care after what the two of them just shared.

He held her tightly for a few moments more, knowing that she needed Leo, too. It was Ben’s turn now to relax and just admire the view.

Leo stepped into the bathroom and closed the door, not able to take his eyes from the beauty before him. His mate had her head thrown back, an expression of sheer rapture on her face as she found her pleasure, and the sounds of her passion were the sweetest music to his ears.

He stepped up to the bath and turned off the running water before there was even more of it on the floor. He understood very well how his brother hadn’t noticed the mess.

“Oh crap, the water,” Ben said once he’d noticed the sloshing sound of Leo’s steps.

“Yes, brother, seems you were seduced by a mermaid. I can see how you’d lose track of the rest of the world.” Leo smiled down at Erica as he cupped her cheek with his hand and leaned in for a gentle kiss. “How are you feeling, love?”

“Better now that you’re here as well.” Erica kissed him back with a heat that had him growling low in the back of his throat.

“Stand up, little one,” Leo ordered as he took a step back and watched the water slip off of her perfect, creamy curves.

He held out his hand to her, and when she accepted it, he helped her step out of the tub and onto the warm tile.

“Oh, you’re in for it now, pixie. I’ve seen that look before.” Ben laughed as he sat back in the tub with a sigh.

Leo tried not to smile when their mate’s eyes opened a little wider in concern, but he wanted to keep her off balance for this. They’d both enjoy it more.

“Now, undress me.”

“I finally got the boys to—” Kane stopped dead in his tracks in the doorway to his bedroom, his words completely failing him due to the sight that greeted him.

Sons of bitches who adamantly refused … for as long as they could … to wear any sort of costume. Kane had learned pretty quickly that he could not refuse Gemma anything that would make her and their three-year-old boys happy, especially if not giving in would make them unhappy. So he and Jordan begrudgingly donned last minute, makeshift costumes, which Kane had to also begrudgingly admit, looked pretty bad ass!

He had applied some of Gemma’s makeup to make himself look like Eric Draven from The Crow—the black eye-liner and dark shadow only, since Gemma did not own any white face paint. The black leather pants, skin-tight, black, long-sleeved shirt, and black boots were already part of his wardrobe. He went sans the long, black coat because Jordan needed it for his costume. In addition to Kane’s coat, Jordan wore black slacks, a ribbed, black undershirt and black boots with buckles on them. When he put on his dark aviators, his Neo from The Matrix look was complete.

Gemma squealed with glee when they had surprised her with their costumes. Both characters were from two of her favorite movies. “You both look way hotter, though,” she had said. And from the scent of her arousal, Kane had no doubt she meant it.

“I think you boys deserve a treat later,” Gemma said with a devilish wink. She then sauntered off into the family room adding just a little extra sway to her hips.

ANSWER FROM FIONA – Hi Sarah! I have to be honest with you it’s still pretty damn shocking to me that I ended up with not one, but two of the Winters brothers! But to answer your question, the best thing about having them both to myself, well, apart from the obvious physical benefits, it’s knowing that they love me for who I am, and will always have my back no matter what. Hell, they even gave of their own life’s energy to save me! ANSWER FROM ROWENA – Hello Avril, this is a great question and I feel that this is definitely the question for me to answer. Frustration is an emotion that occurs in situations where a person is blocked from reaching a desired outcome. We feel pleased and satisfied whenever we achieve that desired outcome but frustration rears its head when we are prevented from reaching our goals We may feel irritable, annoyed and angry. Typically –

FAITH – Damn it Rowena! What in the hell have we agreed? No more psychologicalistic-mumbo-gumbo shit when people ask you a simple damn question.

ROWENA – But, perhaps-

The next few minutes were filled with people moving quickly and efficiently to get Angel onto a stretcher and then they hustled her to the front of the house. Noah stayed back and out of sight. His head was spinning now that the adrenaline of the moment had faded, and it reminded him that he had recently suffered significant blood loss, still had three bullets in his back and a system full of jax. All in all, it was fucking surprising he was still on his feet.

“Noah,” Chris moved toward him, and Noah couldn’t stop himself from taking a small step back. He saw the pain on Chris’s face and immediately regretted the move, but Noah was worried about whether or not the poison could be absorbed by Chris if he came in contact with his blood. Until he found out for sure, he was keeping his brother safe. Just as he always had and always would.

Chris made a frustrated sound as he ran his hands through his hair, a move Noah knew very well. “Shit, Noah. You’ve been gone for eight months. Eight fucking months with no word from you! You closed yourself off from our bond, and like a dumbass little brother I kept talking to you. Did you even hear me at all?”

“No,” Noah felt acid boiling in his stomach. He had never lied to Chris. Oh, sure he had omitted stuff, but what older brother didn’t? But bald face lied to his face? Never. Not until that very moment.

Chris exhaled hard, as if Noah had actually punched him in the stomach. “Okay then, so you left and severed contact with me. Why?” The pleading in his voice and filling his eyes almost had Noah telling him everything, just to get Chris to feel better.

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author. What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A: This is my first MMF book and I absolutely adored writing it. I have been a huge fan of MMF books for a long time now, and although it was a challenge, it was one that I embrace and totally enjoyed.

Q: Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all. Have you had this happen to you?

A: Heaps! I am not a planner. I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl. There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF? I did not see that coming! Over the next few books, there are answers that start to help explain a few things for my characters, and I didn’t know that the connections ran so deeply.

Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?
I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book. As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery. I want to give that to my readers.

What are you working on at the moment?
Grey River has so many stories to tell, and I am currently working on book seven of this series. When I sat down to start writing this book, I had a story in mind and had assumed it would be a particular story. But, I was a little taken a back when I started to write about a female character I had yet encountered. And I was shocked as hell when she turned out to be the Fated mate of two characters I hadn’t realized even had a story to tell yet!

I am also writing Olwen and Rohan’s story in The Goddess claims her Guard which is book five which is the last one in my Shifters of Freedom Springs series. I love the mythological angle of this series!

Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand. She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.

Happily Evil After: A Dark Fairy Godmother Series

Hi there! I just wanted to update you on a new series I’ve been working on this month, I’ve been having so much fun with it and I think those if you who appreciate the humour in my Coalition Mates series will dig this twist on our regular fairy tales!

Meet Pandora, the Dark Fairy Godmother that just doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of her brethren.

The idea for this series started when our street team group was deep in a Hero vs. Villain debate…and I took a little flack because of my Super Villain fetish. What can I say? I can’t resist a little bad boy action. 😉 So I decided that I would write a story where the sadly misunderstood villain was the one who got their ‘happily ever after’ instead of the goody-two shoe Prince.

So here is a little introduction into the Happily Evil After series, I hope it peaks your interest!

Series Prologue:

My name is Pandora, I’m a dark Fairy Godmother. What? Never heard of a dark Fairy Godmother you say? Well that’s because only about one in every one million Fairy Godmother pregnancies result in a blending of wild magic and ends up with a deviant like me.

I still remember that day at health class in Godmother finishing school…

“Girls! Make sure you never trust a boy when he says, ‘Don’t you trust me baby?’ and once you’re bonded; never have sex in any other position other than missionary!”

Yeesh, have you seen how the Fairy Godfather’s dress around here? Prancing around in their pastel leggings and embroidered velvet frocks? No freaking thank you, I’d rather have sex with the Gnome gardener that was always peeping in the girls locker room than let one of those dandies get at me.

Apparently it runs in the family, because my mother was a bad-ass too. All she’s ever told me about my father was that on one spring break, her and her fellow sorority sisters, The Raging Blue Faries, decided to do something crazy. They flew down to Florida, hit the Paranormal bar’s that were ‘happening’ at the time, had a few too many Mai Tai’s, ended up in the hot tub with a dashing male of the non-fairy variety, one thing led to another and nine months later I came into the word. In true fashion that only I can pull off, she said I unfurled my smoke grey and black wings and gave the head nurse the finger before starting to cry.

The ruling Fairy Godmother Council of course tried to make my mom give me up, since not only was she not bonded, but I was the epitome of all that could go wrong in the life of a Fairy Godmother. They wanted her to leave me in the woods for the Sprites to decide my fate and let the realm re-absorb my magic if that was its will. But like I said, my mom was a bad-ass and she very politely, because she was still a Fairy Godmother of course, told them to shove off and curled her sparkly blue wings around me.

While my mom always made sure that I knew she loved me just the way I am, I never really did fit in with our society. It’s totally true what they say about me, I do create havoc and trouble where ever I go….I freaking love doing it! I spent most of my school days punking the other Fairy God-students, even the teachers weren’t safe from my wrath. Before you bring it up, NO I was not the one who opened that damned box of sins; the fucking thing was open when I strolled into the locker room. I think those damned Pink Pixies set me up, it had only been a week since I drugged them in chemistry lab and shaved off all their eyebrows. Who knew they would be so vindictive? I almost felt like we could’ve been friends after that, too bad. Eventually, I did get kicked out of school, but not before I absorbed one very clear fact that I took great offense to within my mother’s society of well do-gooders. They used their magic to help others find their happy endings, but not all others; just the ‘good’ people who they decided deserved it.

Who were these pompous assholes that got to decide that just because someone takes a less-than-understood path in their life, that they were ‘evil’ and not deserving of a happy ending? Well I call bullshit on that bitches. See, I have my own brand of power and I decided that I would be the Fairy Godmother picking up the slack for all the misunderstood ‘monsters and villains’ out there. After all, they’re just different like me right? And let me tell you, I make damn sure I get my happy ending on the regular, if you know what I mean. *wink*
