GIVEN TIME by E.D. Parr @evernightpub @parr_books

Thank you for inviting me to your blog with new Evernight Publishing M/M erotic
romance, Given Time.

I wrote this story intending to dedicate it to someone
in the front of the book when the  publisher asked if I had a dedication.
In fact, I didn’t when given the chance, because it no
longer seemed appropriate.

The inspiration for the story came last Christmas when
I went to stay with friends in another county, but one that I
know very well and have lived in. Just like Matt in the story I was shocked and deeply saddened
when a much-loved celebrity suddenly died on Christmas Day. I’d followed this artist’s work for
years and, because he was a musician, the lyrics and his songs had often lifted
me from sadness.

Like many others I wandered off to the house the person
lived and died in, which was just a couple of miles away in the next village. I
sat in my car watching the parade of people placing tributes along the wall of
the house.

The core of the inspiration came from seeing a lone man
approach as fog descended on the long pathway. He was tall, slender, dressed
stylishly from head to foot in black, and he carried a bunch of white lilies
that he placed beside other flowers. His melancholy exuded from his elegant
movements. The sight struck me and I couldn’t put it out of my mind as the circumstances surrounding the  death of this musician was reported in the news for weeks.

I know a little about the deceased’s life and know
sadness surrounding his love-life was often woven into his songs. I wrote the
story for him … for him to have a happy ending. If that sounds weird, then
that’s okay … he gave me, and still does, such pleasure through his music.

The story isn’t about a musician. It’s about life and
love. There are a number of scorching hot love scenes in the story, which I
enjoyed writing for the two heroes, Matt and Angel, who after hoping for love,
finally find it.
Thank you to the unknown, gorgeous man who laid lilies
outside the big old house.

Given Time

Blurb:

Music video maker, Angel Starc is about to board a
plane to Paris when he receives some sudden sad news. It takes him hurrying
back to his childhood home after two years away, estranged from his older
brother, Rory.
Angel is amazed and filled with guilt when that night
he meets the only man he’s found romantically attractive in a long time. How
can it be right? He should only be filled with sorrow, but gorgeous, caring
Matt Loewe wraps him in a blanket of comfort and love that heals Angel’s
troubled soul.
Delectable, artist, Matt Loewe, follows his hunches and
his heart. He’s been looking for love and Angel ignites an addictive passion in
him.
As the two men fall deep in love they provide each
other with the care needed to come to terms with their past anxieties.

sex, frottage, gay partner oral sex, partner masturbation, and explicit gay
male love scenes)
Be teased…
(18+excerpt)

He kissed Matt, gently, soaking up the feel of Matt’s
skin against his nose. He thrust his hips so that his lower body crushed on
Matt’s and the unmistakable shape of Matt’s cock, hard and bulging in his pants
met Angel’s cock. A low groan escaped Angel and he deepened the kiss, clinging
to Matt, as his legs weakened and his heart pounded.

Matt pushed his arms around Angel’s neck, and Angel’s
hands fell away from the grip on his shoulders. Matt’s murmur penetrated
Angel’s haze of pleasure. “I can’t even think straight, but I know I want you
naked in my arms.” He rained kisses on Angel’s mouth.

Angel pushed his hands between their bodies. He traced
Matt’s erection with his fingertips and then cupped it in his palm, pressing
against the fabric of Matt’s pants.

Matt’s groan on Angel’s lips sent a shock of desire
through his balls.
Angel opened Matt’s pants in a rapid move and thrust
them down his thighs. He dragged Matt’s boxers down and grabbed his cock. The
rock-hard column filled his fist and extended inches over it. He sighed out the
pleasure the feeling gave him, kissing Matt hungrily. Angel’s cock strained
against his pants and his stomach clenched so tight it made him breathless.

“Take off your clothes.” Matt’s urgent whisper teased
on Angel’s lips.

Angel hurried to comply. He slid his hand from Matt’s
cock taking with it the pulse of pre-cum that leaked from the slit. He licked
his finger gazing into Matt’s eyes.

Matt gasped as he watched. He dragged off his jacket
and pulled his tie from around the collar of his shirt. Practically wrenching
the buttons from his shirt, he yanked it down his arms.

Angel gazed at him, taking off his jacket and shirt as
he savored the sight of Matt’s muscled torso, and the way Matt’s perfect cock
bounced as he moved. Matt was already naked and Angel went to him. He grabbed
his ass and pulled him close. “Fucking hell, you are so hot, and it’s been so long for me I might come just looking at
you.” He kissed Matt.

Matt’s response made his cock jerk. The passion in his
kiss scorched down Angel’s stomach. He escaped Matt’s lips with a groan and
pulled off his pants, levering off his boots as quickly as he could.

Matt ran his hands along Angel’s ass.
Angel jerked upright and spun around.
Matt’s eyes darkened and he held out his arms.

Angel rammed his body on Matt’s and they crashed
together, murmuring hoarse sounds. Matt’s cock rubbed on Angel’s and he rocked
his hips so that the hard columns slid along each other. His chest felt tight
as his lower body clenched with the need to come.
“I might fucking fall down if I don’t come soon.” He
whispered…

THIEF OF HEARTS by E.D. Parr @evernightpub @parr_books

Thank you for inviting me to your lovely blog with new release, Thief of Hearts.

I loved writing this story. Alex the fun, sexy hero thinks nothing of wandering around
on tall buildings both in his day job and in his clandestine antics at night.
Lovely Blake has the wrong idea about himself. The scar on his face is a heavy load
for him to carry but hunky Alex sees the beauty before him and falls in love with Blake.
There are some red-hot love scenes but behind them is a love story to make you smile.
Alex isn’t who he first appears to be. Love changes him as much as it lifts Blake from his
self-doubt.
I hope that you enjoy their story.

Thief of Hearts

Thirty year old, lawyer, Blake Aster gazes from his high-rise office window wondering if
this summer he’ll find love, but deep inside he doubts anyone will ever want
him again. He can’t forget the scar he has running the length of his handsome face.
Hunky, daring, Alex Ryan is cleaning the building windows. Struck by the mythical
beauty in the Blake’s looks, fun-loving Alex sets out to get Blake’s attention.
Maybe a striptease outside Blake’s eighth floor window will do the trick.

*M/M erotic romance—contains gay male anal sex, oral sex, partner masturbation in the love
scenes

Read a teaser…
He checked his coffee. Cool enough to drink. Kathy made the hottest coffee ever. It escaped Blake how she did it. He picked up his favorite stoneware mug and wandered to stare out at the day through the enormous plate glass windows of his eighth-floor office.
He cradled the mug in both hands. A weak sun filtered through dove-gray clouds. Blake longed for summer. Spring was cool and rainy this year. It echoed his forlorn mood most of the time. Summer meant he walked to work and sauntered home in the light evening, stopping to eat at one of the cafés, bistros, or restaurants along the way.
Summer meant he might meet a guy in one of those places, if he was lucky. Blake
sighed and drank some coffee. It was about time he met a guy and yet he lacked
the confidence that anyone would ever want him again. I don’t have the heart to go to bars anymore, and I might run into John.
Lost in reverie, and shielded by the noise reducing double-glazing of the building, he didn’t hear the approach of the suspended scaffold containing the window cleaner. The cradle appeared before him on the other side of the glass and a gorgeous guy stared right at Blake.
Blake’s heart pounded. He had no idea why, except that the young man’s eyes were the bluest he’d ever seen, and the smile that slowly spread over the window cleaner’s face contained undisguised appraisal.
Blake took a step back from the window. He’d moved too quickly and some coffee lurched out of his mug. He shifted sideways to avoid it splashing his pristine white shirt. With a murmur of annoyance, he glanced at the young man on the scaffold.
The blue eyes held mirth, twinkling at him from the deliciously handsome face. The smile became a moue, and the window cleaner gave Blake a hands-out shrug.
Blake read the whole gesture as sympathy, but far from it helping him, he felt like a fool doing a dance of surprise and desperation. He looked down at the dark wave shape on the carpet made by the coffee and sighed.
Am I so lonely that the sight of a handsome man turns me into an idiot? Yeah…
In an effort to gain control, Blake dared to lift his gaze to the man outside. He’d expected water to smear the glass, but the guy hadn’t made any effort to clean the window so Blake had a clear view of the striptease the window cleaner engaged in. He lifted the t-shirt he wore at the hem and in a tantalizing move slid it up his torso.
Blake’s mouth watered at the sight of the smooth, muscular chest on display. The man’s jeans rode low and Blake followed the V of his slim hips into the frayed top with greedy eyes.
Blake caught his breath at the bulge in the front of the blue pants as the man
thrust his hips a little taking the t-shirt over his head before he dropped it
beside him onto the cradle floor.
Blake stared in open appreciation of the broad shoulders and muscled arms before him. A sigh escaped him. This man gave him butterflies. Blake’s cock stirred as the guy leaned close to the glass and blew him a kiss. A smile spread over Blake’s face as
happiness took him over. He didn’t even care if the guy was mocking him. He
allowed himself to enjoy the show.

RELEASE POINT by Maia Dylan @evernightpub @maiadylanauthor

RELEASE POINT – SNIPER TEAM BRAVO, 4

BLURB:

Snipers refer to a point where a decision made could change the course of a target’s journey, as the release point. When Maddox Devereaux walked away from Glenn Webster six months ago, he’d reached that point and the path he chose meant he could never go back.

Maddox headed into combat and eventually found himself being held captive and tortured in South America by the head of a drug cartel hell bent on revenge. For Maddox, he felt as if that might just be his penance.

Glenn was tired of his team thinking that he was broken. Yes he had been raped, yes it had been horrible, but he had found a way to deal with that. What he was finding hard to process was how he had pushed Maddox away right when he needed him most.

When they find out that Maddox is being held captive, Bravo do what they do best. They load up and go to war. Maddox comes home and it takes all of them to help him heal. Little do they know, they are now the ones being hunted.

Can Glenn and Maddox find their way back together, or will this release point result in an outcome neither of them will survive?

TEASER:

On the floor just inside the door, a man lay dead, a nasty looking knife wound at his temple. When Glenn’s gaze moved to the back of the room, he saw two men fully engaged in a knife battle. Both were bleeding heavily, but fighting with a confidence that spoke of hours of training. But only one of them was a man Glenn knew better than himself.

Glenn lifted his gun to put a bullet in the Hispanic man who was swinging his knife toward his spotter, but stopped when Maddox threw him a quick glance that gave Glenn pause. For whatever reason, Maddox needed to do this. Glenn cursed when Maddox moved with his opponent, putting his back toward Glenn. There were large strips of skin missing from his back, and huge, bleeding red welts. Add to that the knife wound Glenn had spotted on Maddox’s upper chest and the huge gash that marred his stomach, and he had no clue how he hell the man was still standing.

As he watched, Maddox’s opponent faked right in a move so obvious Glenn knew it was over. A split second later, Maddox cried out in triumph as he drove his knife to the hilt into the top of the other man’s skull. He was dead before he hit the ground. Maddox turned, swaying on his feet, his breathing heavy and fast.

The two of them stood in that hellhole, the smell of blood, and death thick in the air, and simply stared at each other. Maddox’s expression was one Glenn had never seen before. He had witnessed Maddox dispatch their enemies without any hesitation, doing what had to be done, but there was always a flicker of pain at having to take another man’s life. Especially in war when both were simply following the orders of others. In this moment, there was no remorse. No pain. No emotion whatsoever. It was as if Maddox had checked out.

Glenn stepped forward cautiously. “Maddox?” An ache appeared in the center of his chest when Maddox flinched.

“Am I dead?” Maddox asked in a stilted voice.

Glenn frowned. “Nah, man, you won that fight. You’re still standing.”

“Are you sure?” Maddox’s voice was slurred.

“Yeah, brother,” Marcel said from his position by the door. “You are definitely still standing, but we have no idea how the fuck you’re doing it.”

“Stubborn ass willpower would be my guess,” Dev growled as he strode forward, stepping past Glenn and approaching Maddox. Dev stopped immediately when Maddox shied away. “Maddox?”

“Why’re y’all here?”

Dev moved a step closer. “We’re here for you, dumb ass. You’re Bravo.”

Maddox shook his head. “No. Not Bravo. No absolution for me. I … failed–”

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A:  This is the final book in this series of four, and this whole series was my first foray into MM’s. Maddox and Glenn were always going to be the most emotional journey in this series, but I never anticipated how it would affect the readers.  I have had more people asking about this book than any other in this series.

Q:  What was your favorite part of writing this book?

A:  Finally getting to see Maddox and Glenn work their way to an HEA.  They have intrigued me from the very beginning and seeing them get together was so rewarding.  As an author, you most definitely bond with your characters, and in this book, that bond was strong!

Q: Why do you always include a danger element to your books?

A: I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book.  As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery.  I want to give that to my readers.

Q: Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

A: If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it!  Did you?  Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing.  If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!

Author bio:

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand.  She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.

Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books.  Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library.  She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.

Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook!  Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow.  She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.

Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can.  As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!

BEST WORST EVER by L.D. Blakeley #MMRomance #ContemporaryRomance @LDBlakeley

Thanks for having me on today to tell you about Best Worst Ever. This story was my very first to be published so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I recently had my rights reverted, and knew I didn’t want this novella to simply fade away. So I decided to give my boys a bit of a spruce-up. I redid the cover art, revised and edited the story and made it available once more. I hope you enjoy. 🙂

Carey English spends his days planning extravagant parties and lavish weddings and generally making people’s lives brighter. He spends his nights wishing for a man he doesn’t have to share and who won’t try to drag him back into the closet. It doesn’t help that the man he wants most doesn’t need a closet to begin with — his straight best friend, Sky.

Skyler Wood has been dumped — again — just days before the holiday season, leaving him with an ex-fiancée, a nonrefundable New Year’s Eve getaway rental, and nothing to ring in the New Year but a broken heart. For Carey, rushing off to offer Sky a shoulder will either be the best decision he’s ever made—or it will lead to the worst heartbreak he’s ever experienced.

Excerpt:

If there was one thing he knew about Sky, it was that he was as frugal as the day was long. And, judging by the other places he’d passed along the way, he was guessing the impressive exterior of this place matched a rather swanky, if not romantic, interior. Of course, idiot. Sky had rented the place thinking he’d be with his fiancée. Not his best friend.

He parked next to his friend’s SUV and stubbornly grabbed more than he could carry at once. Why make two trips when you can do it in one? Necessity might be the mother of invention, but laziness was definitely its big, bad daddy. Laden down with a suitcase and far too many bags of food and liquor, Carey used the toe of his boot to gently knock at the front door. “Sky? You in there? My hands are full, man, come open the door.” When there was no response, he tried again with the tip of his boot. “Mr. Darcy, are—”

His sentence was cut short as the door flew open. “Jesus! Hold your horses, Logan. I couldn’t hear you with the water running. I was just in the…”

Shower. He’d been in the shower. Carey knew this, not because he suddenly had the ability to read minds. Oh, no. He knew this because there, in front of him, stood all six foot four inches of Darcy Skyler Wood… dripping wet with nothing but a towel slung low around his hips. Shit.

Don’t stare. Don’t stare at that solitary drop of water as it slowly slides its way between the hard, flat planes of those perfect pecs. And for the love of all that’s holy, do not stare at anything even remotely near the edge of that towel! But Carey never was any good at taking orders.

THE NIGHT GARDENER by E.D. Parr @evernightpub @parr_books

The Night Gardener

E.D.Parr

#MMromance

new release from Evernight Publishing

Architect, Dane Lovell takes an off-season vacation in an old New England mansion, hoping
to ease his broken heart, and spark his imagination. Impressed by the pretty
gardens, he’s surprised by the sinister atmosphere of the river than winds
through the estate. Dane settles down to his vacation and tries to immerse
himself in his drawings. One night, the sound of the back door smashing open in
the wind and rain shocks Dane from his work.
Spooky, gorgeous, and enigmatic Zachary Yarrow has brought logs for the fire.
He’s the estate gardener and brings with him not just passion and a love affair for
Dane, but a strange, spine-tingling mystery.
Who is Zachary, and what will happen when Dane finds out?

From the author:
Inspired by some wild countryside, and a rushing river that stormed under a bridge so loudly, I couldn’t
hear what a friend said to me, for me this story is as much about nature as
love. I’ve always believed there are more things in the elegant stream of life
than we know about, and this story is about a young man who loves life so much
he finds a way to live it. There are some heartstring tugs in this story, and
some hot love scenes, because this is a love story. It’s a journey for both
characters, Dane and Zachary to deep, lasting love.

Read an excerpt

The gardener slotted his logs into the spaces between other logs already in the
nook bricked into the side of the fireplace. “Zachary Yarrow.”

Dane folded his arms over his body, wishing he’d thought to close the door as
chilling air swept along the hall and into the room. “Dane Lovell.”

Zachary stood, having completed his task. “You’re here off season. I guess you know. I
always do the gardens off-season—have done for the last—well, for years. When
I’m here, I usually stay in this cottage. I guess I need to find somewhere else
this time.”

Cold, Dane accepted the information with a nod. “I need to close the door, Mr.
Yarrow.” He returned to the back door and closed it up.

Zachary Yarrow had followed. “You can call me Zachary.”

Dane hung around near the back door. The gardener showed no signs of leaving and
Dane didn’t know how to be rude enough just to ask him to go.

“It’s way too dark to garden. You’re wet through.” Dane’s gaze ranged over the sodden
sweater Zachary wore, and along the rain-darkened jeans covering Zachary’s
muscled thighs.
The guy has to be cold. “Can I offer you a cup of coffee?”

Zachary grinned happily. “A cup of coffee, yeah, that will be great, thanks.”

Dane led the way back into the kitchen. “Sit by one of the radiators and try to dry
out a little.” He put water to boil and heaped instant into mugs. “I can lend
you a dry sweater…”

Zachary leaned close to the radiator. “It’s okay. I’ll drape my sweater on here. It’ll
be dry in no time.” He pulled the soggy item over his head and arranged it on
the hot metal flutes.

Dane experienced a shock of attraction as he took in the smooth, muscled chest on
display when Zachary turned to him.

“Look, it’s already steaming.”

Dane tore his gaze from Zachary’s body and glanced at the sweater. The kettle boiled
and he whipped around to make the coffee, thankful for the diversion.

“Do you take sugar or cream?”

Zachary’s voice came from immediately behind him. “Black, thank you, no sugar.”

Dane closed his eyes to dissipate the surprise Zachary’s silent approach gave him.
He edged around to face Zachary, who stood so close Dane’s composure flew clean
away as his whole body reacted to the proximity of this complete hunk.
Holy hell, he is completely gorgeous. Dane stepped sideways and picked up a
mug. He handed it to Zachary. “Coffee, er, sorry, its instant. I’ve given
myself a vacation from grounds and filters.” He smiled apologetically.

Zachary studied him for a few seconds.

Dane had the distinct feeling Zachary knew exactly what he was thinking.

FALLING STAR VALENTINE by E.D. Parr @parr_books @evernightpub

Falling Star Valentine

new RoTG #MMromance #SciFi from
Evernight Publishing and E.D.Parr

Fashion photographer Dale Walker takes a train to his hometown, relocating there after nursing a broken heart for six months in another city. His train makes an unscheduled stop to take on a mysterious passenger.

For a long time, Valentine Steel has hoped to meet a man who will love him. When he sees Dale on the train, he’s overjoyed to find a vacant seat beside Dale.

Dale’s immediate attraction to Valentine has him on edge. He doesn’t want another broken heart, and yet Valentine is so magnetic Dale’s frozen heart begins to thaw.

Valentine sets out to charm and capture Dale in his sparkling aura. He can’t let the chance to have Dale’s love slip away. This could be his last chance to stay on Earth the planet he loves.

Read a teaser:

He gazed at Dale’s mouth as his stomach tightened and he experienced an intense longing to kiss Dale. He hungrily watched Dale’s lips move.

“I don’t want to trouble you with my sad little story.”

Dale’s stoic expression touched Valentine. He felt a thud in the region where his heart was. Then a ripple of tenderness radiated to every part of his body and his heartbeat grew strong.

“Oh, but you must. You wouldn’t trouble me. There’s no shame in having a sad story. I had one myself some years ago.” He pushed his hand over the short distance of the table, longing to touch Dale.

Dale took a deep breath and Valentine knew he was going to share his story.

“I broke up with someone, a lover … it hurt to stay in the same city. I’d moved there for this person and now … there’s no need to stay.” Dale stared at Valentine’s hand and edged his own along the tablecloth.

The server arrived at the table with their order.

Valentine waited, impatient now, until the server spread the food before him and Dale, then left.

“I’m sorry. Do you still love this person?” He avoided saying man, although he knew it was a man. Dale’s sexual preference was apparent in the way he looked at Valentine. His eyes traveled over Valentine’s face with a particular gaze only a gay guy would make. Valentine had long searched for a man who made his heart leap the way the sight of Dale did. When he’d heard Dale reminisce about a man, who could only be an idiot to let Dale go, he’d been elated. He’d yearned for Valentine’s Day then, when he could show himself.

From the author:

The story ‘Falling Star Valentine’ was inspired by shooting stars. We all know shooting stars are falling meteorites, but the romance remains when one streaks across the midnight blue sky, and when two, in close succession, zoom over the night vista as you stand on your hotel balcony, it’s a sight to behold. I travel a little with my day job and in the autumn of 2016, I had to travel a lot more than usual. One night when I couldn’t sleep because I was churning worries around, I went out onto the balcony of the hotel room I was staying in and stared up at the sky. The night sparkled cold and the sky displayed an array of stars suddenly seeming only meters away a shooting star flew across my line of vision, then another as if it followed the first.

I’m a die-hard romantic and immediately my sweet but sexy character, Valentine Steel, had formed in my head. He’s Falling Star Valentine on his way to visit earth. Will he find love?

Excerpt

Jaegar knew he should throw Bram out of his room, the man could be a bounty hunter in disguise, but lust was the enemy of reason. He wanted Bram. Wanted him bad. And he could rationalize it easily. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. It was crucial to find out exactly what Bram knew, and it might be even more important to learn his strengths and weaknesses. That knowledge could be critical to Jaegar’s survival. “Maybe you’re right, Bram.”

“I know I am. I love my job, but my life has been all work and no play. I always thought if I took a risk the sky would fall.

“And what if it does?”

“I think it might be worth it.” Bram leaned in as if he were about to—

Jaegar was totally shocked by the kiss. He’d fantasized about Bram for months, but in his dreams Bram’s lips were always on his cock. He never imagined how warm and soft Bram’s lips would feel against his. Seconds later, Bram took the heat level up a notch. His tongue pressed for entrance, and Jaegar opened his mouth with a low purr. Electricity sparked in the air. The world shifted. Everything changed. It was terrifying and beautiful at the same time.  No other act had ever felt so intimate. Bram pulled him closer and deepened the kiss as if he wanted to swallow Jaegar whole. All rational thought disappeared. Only feelings and sensations remained. Jaegar needed to touch Bram. He slipped his hands under Bram’s shirt and gripped his strong back, moaning at the contact.

The kiss went on and on. Jaegar never wanted it to end, but finally they came apart. Bram rested his forehead against Jaegar’s and they both inhaled deeply.

Jaegar wasn’t prepared for these feelings. He had no idea a kiss could feel so sensuous and intimate. “Bram?”

“I know. I feel the same.” Bram sat back. “Can I stay?”

Way past the point of saying no, Jaegar nodded. Bram stood and started removing his clothes. Jaegar watched for a few seconds, and then got up to close the drapes. The room was dim, but not dim enough to hide the feral features that became more pronounced in the heat of passion. Jaegar’s eyes would intensify to a unique shade of amber and his pupils turned into slits. Few had ever noticed, but Jaegar had a ready excuse. He explained it away by saying he had coloboma, a congenital defect in humans. Trying to hide his subtle differences had become second nature. He climbed onto the bed and assumed the position.

Bram chuckled. “Does this mean you want me to top?”

“You said you wanted to fuck me.”

“Oh, yeah. I want to fuck you until you can’t stand, but what do you want?”

Jaegar inhaled slowly, impatient to feel the big man mount him. He was pleased that Bram gave him a choice, but his ass clenched with the desire to be filled. “Fuck me, Bram.”

“My pleasure.”

STORY EXCERPT

Nicholas Duffy watched Damien walk away. He liked him. He was not the usual, stuffy, old priest. He had a sense of humor, he was young, and best of all, he took the occasional nip of gin. In addition, he was very handsome with his red hair, green eyes, and a muscular build. He was definitely not the image one conjures up when thinking of a man of the cloth.

Sitting with Father Damien had its advantages. He was a deterrent to those mothers eager to have their spinster daughters married off because they all knew that there were no eligible young men on the island. As long as he was sitting with the priest, mothers did not dare approach him on such a delicate subject.

The two men were as different as night and day. One was renowned as a gentleman and a man of the cloth, while the other was a man seeking to find his place in society, and Barbados was just the place to do it in spite of the unscrupulous reputation of the island. Nicholas`s lifestyle did not quite fit in with his conservative surroundings in Ireland, and when he saw the advertisement in the local paper, he jumped at his chance to climb the ladder of success.

* * * *

“Two aces trump your kings,” Nicholas declared, holding Damien’s gaze.

“I think it’s time to call it a night,” Damien said. “I should’ve known you were a card shark.”

“Grrrr!” Nicholas shouted, curling his lips and baring his teeth. “I am indeed a card shark.”

Their card game had attracted a few of the fellow passengers, and they crowded around them, making it a tad uncomfortable for Damien. He thought it better to retire for the evening, before a simple game of cards turned into an Irish brawl.

“Sorry, but I must call it a night. Tomorrow promises to be another long day on the stormy waters of the Atlantic.”

“See you at breakfast then, Father?”

“See you then. Goodnight, Nick.”

“Goodnight, Father,” the group of onlookers echoed.

In his little room, Father Damien got to his knees, and said his nightly prayers before crawling into bed and pulling the covers over his head. It was the month of November, and the sea was turbulent. It was the end of the hurricane season, but that didn’t mean that it was the end of the bad weather. That night the ocean was not in a particularly good mood. The ship lurched and tilted to one side, scaring its occupants out of their beds.

Suddenly, someone was knocking on his door, and when Father Damien opened it, he found Nicholas standing there, whiter than a sheet, with a towel wrapped around his waist.

“Let me in, Damien,” he shouted.

“Yes! Yes! Come on in,” Damien replied, hanging on to the closet door for stability. “Come in.”

“I think I’m going to be sick, Damien,” he shouted.

Damien just had enough time to direct him to the small sink in the bathroom, where he emptied his stomach. Damien cleaned his face with a cool cloth, and the young man stumbled onto his bed, still retching and gagging, until the towel fell away from his body, exposing a stalwart erection. He groaned for a few moments, and then was suddenly quiet. Damien’s eyes opened wider than saucers, as he stared down at the massive rod of thick flesh. His mouth dropped open, his shaft stirred in his pajamas, and he clenched his fists at his side, staring, unable to look away. Not knowing what else to do, he threw the towel over Nicholas’s lower body, but it wasn’t enough. The damage had already been done, and a tent appeared where he had thrown the towel. Finally turning away, Damien stared up at the ceiling, while his unwanted guest sprawled across his bed and continued to moan and groan.

ADULT EXCERPT

The moment the man saw Father Damien dressed in his vestment, he made a sign of the cross.

“I’m looking for Mr. Duffy,” Damien said.

The man pointed to someone in the distance, riding around on a horse.

“He’s over there,” the man said.

He recognized him as an Irishman by his heavy Irish brogue.

“I would like to speak to him. Would you get him for me?”

The man walked away and spoke to Nicholas, who turned around, raised an arm above his eyes to block out the sunlight, and stared at him. The horse started a slow trot in Damien’s direction.

“Father Damien, where were you all this time? I thought you had returned to Ireland.”

“I can say the same thing about you. You promised to come by and see me at the parish church.”

“Well, Father,” he said, dismounting his horse, “I was thinking about it, and I thought it would be better if I left well enough alone.”

Damien was confused by the remark, but did not immediately acknowledge it. He gazed at Nicholas. Barbados seemed to agree with Nicholas. He looked healthy, handsome, and as brown as butter. Riding around all day on his horse certainly seemed to have its advantages.

“What are you saying, Nick? I thought we were friends.”

“Of course we’re friends. Because we haven’t seen each other doesn’t mean we’re no longer friends. You were always in my thoughts.”

He handed the reins to the field hand, and with a gesture of the head, directed Damien into the plantation home.

“You’re living in the lap of luxury,” Damien said, taking in the antique furniture that adorned the home.

His host poured two shots of rum and handed one to him.

“The best stuff there is,” he said, lifting his glass.

“In heaven there is no beer.

That’s why we drink ours down here.”

Damien nodded, acknowledging the Irish ditty.

“Cheers,” he said, knocking his glass against Damien’s. “So how is hell treating you?”

“Cheers! Just like it’s treating everyone else,” Nicholas replied, before throwing his head back and gulping down the smooth, sweet liquor. “Had lunch?”

“No, but I’m hoping you would ask me.”

Nicholas laughed, poured two more drinks, and led Damien out to the veranda.

“I can see that Father Kelly has taught you well.”

“You’ve never met him.”

“Ah, but this is a small island, my boy. His reputation has preceded him.”

“Well then, I must be more careful.”

Half an hour later, a woman showed up on the veranda to say that lunch was ready. Damien’s eyes bulged as he stared at the amount of food she had laid out. There was enough on the table to feed an army.

“Let’s eat,” Nicholas announced.

Father Damien closed his eyes in a silent prayer. Nicholas gazed at him, his long eyelashes fluttering over his piercing, blue eyes. When Damien opened his eyes,  they stared at each other, unblinking.

“So what have we here?” a hungry Father Damien asked, looking from one dish to the other.

“I don’t know. As long as it looks delicious, I eat whatever Mabel puts on the table in front of me.”

Damien spooned some rice onto his plate, and added some stew and vegetables.

“You’re right, Nick. Whatever it is, it’s really delicious.”

His eyes still riveted on Damien, Nicholas couldn’t seem to look away, especially when he served himself another helping. He thought Damien looked different. The sun had given him a healthy glow, and he seemed even more handsome than he was on board the ship. He couldn’t take his eyes off him.

“You’re gawking at me,” Damien remarked.

“I like looking at you. I was thinking how much more handsome you’ve become. It must be the Barbadian sunshine and fresh air.”

Damien put his cutlery down, and their eyes met.

“If I didn’t know you better, I would swear that you’re coming on to me.”

Nicholas did not reply, but kept on gazing at Damien.

“Tell me, Damien. Why did you become a priest?”

“Just as you wanted to be a plantation manager here on this island, is the same reason why I became a priest.”

“I had always thought that it had to be a calling. Why do I think yours wasn’t a calling?” he asked, getting up and standing behind Damien’s chair.

“That’s a misconception, Nick. It was a calling,” Damien said, reaching for his glass and swallowing back the rum in one gulp.

“Am I making you uncomfortable, Father?”

“What makes you think that?”

“You seem nervous,” Nicholas said, returning to his seat and continuing his lunch. “Do you remember that night when I came to your room? I was distressed and in need of comfort, and you comforted me.”

“That’s part of my vocation. I’m here to console those in distress.”

“Father, you are playing with me. You know what I’m saying, and if you don’t know, I’ll spell it out for yer.”

“It’s getting late. Perhaps I should be going.”

“So you do understand what I’m talking about?”

Nicholas stood up and moved close to Damien, so close he could smell the rum on his breath. Damien was nervous, and it showed. His eyelashes fluttered like a moth attracted to light, and he headed for the kitchen door, mistaking it for the entrance door.

“Can I get you something?” the wide-eyed housekeeper asked, unaccustomed to seeing house guests in the kitchen.

“I was on my way out, but I opened the wrong door.”

“I’ll show you the way out, Father.”

Nicholas was waiting by the car when he ran down the stairs.

About the Author

Writing is my passion. I started out with poetry at an early age, and then moved onto novels. Not a day goes by that I do not do some form of writing. I have written six fictional novels, and when time allows, I try to read at least two books per month, thanks to the convenience of the e-reader, which makes it easy to shop the bookstores from the comfort of one’s home.

In addition to my love of books is my love of travel. My career has taken me all over the world, and I have lived in The Caribbean, Italy, India, Germany, and now make Canada my home. If I were to leave Canada for another destination, it would be to live in Bali or New Zealand, because I find the culture and landscapes of both countries breathtaking. My two other passions are gardening and cooking, and I consider myself a gourmet cook.

I am relatively new to romance writing, and have written sixteen romance novels which are all available at most popular book stores.
