HER HUSBAND’S ARMY BUDDY by Doris O’Connor @evernightpub @mamaD8

Thanks so much for hosting my new release today. Her Husband’s Army Buddy is out now, and the first in a new series called McLeod Security.

Like so many of my stories, this one started as a flash on my blog. Little did I know then, that it would evolve into a series. When I expanded the flash, it was to be a short story in honor of one of my reader’s birthdays. The Sandy in the story J

As I wrote it took on a life of its own, side characters popped up demanding their story to be told, and hey presto a new series was born. Book two is already completed and the next two are in the planning stages, so watch this space as they.

I should add that all stories will be Standalones, loosely connected through McLeod Security, some darker than others, with different pairings and D/s dynamics, and familiar characters will pop up throughout.

Blurb:

McLeod Security, 1

There should only ever be two people in a marriage…

Sandy McLeod has been perfectly happy in her D/s relationship with her husband Zane for the last ten years. Until his old army buddy re-enters their life.

Sean Manson is altogether too handsome, too virile, far too much of anything. The man oozes dominance, danger, and leashed aggression, and Sandy can’t help but respond to him. Neither can Zane. He walked away from Sean once. Now, he’s back, long suppressed feelings bubble to the surface and cannot be denied. When Sandy agrees to a threesome, happiness seems within their grasp. Sean’s demons, however, threaten to destroy everything they hold dear.

Sean never meant to come between husband and wife, let alone hurt either one of them. Surely, the only solution is to walk away from them both. When you’re the missing piece, however, walking is simply not an option.

Excerpt:

“We need to get her out of this dress, Sir.”

Hearing her husband address Sean like that gave her a secret thrill, the likes of which she wouldn’t have thought possible. To know that she was at the mercy of two Doms, one of which was an unknown entity made this whole thing extra exciting. Whether it was the perceived danger Sean represented, the not knowing how far he would take things, her befuddled brain couldn’t quite figure out. She stopped thinking altogether when Zane unzipped her dress at the back, followed by the snap on her bra and slid his hands around her ribcage to cup her freed breasts.

“Let her go a minute so we can lose these contraptions.” Zane’s grumbled command pitched her need even higher.

Sean stopped kissing her, the pressure on her wrists ceased, and in the next instant she was naked, barring her soaked through thong, hold-up stockings, and the heels she still wore.

“Fuck, you’re beautiful.” Sean’s deep voice showed his admiration of her body as much as his perusal of her as he stepped back and let his hot gaze roam all over. “Spread her for me, so that I can look my fill of our sweet cunt.”

The dirty words turned her on almost as much as her husband’s immediate response.

“Your wish is my command, Sir.”

Zane kicked her legs apart and held her wrists firmly behind her back. Sean, in the meantime, shrugged out of his shirt, and kicked his shoes and trousers off with a speed that left her dizzy. As did the size of his erection straining against the damp confines of his boxers. To know she’d done that to him was a heady aphrodisiac indeed, as was her husband’s erection pushing against her ass.

Sean divested himself of his boxers, too, and she gasped when his thick shaft bobbed up to his navel. She’d been right. He was huge. While his girth wasn’t as thick as Zane’s he had a good half inch in length, and Zane wasn’t exactly small in that department.

Heavily veined, Sean’s magnificent cock looked ready to explode all over again, the broad tip already glistening in pre-cum.

She wanted to taste him so badly, yet Zane’s grip on her wrists stopped her from reaching out. As though Sean had read her thoughts, he groaned and, taking his shaft in his hand, pumped a few times along its length.

“Soon, you get to suck my cock, sweet girl, but for now, I need to taste you properly.” With that he got to his knees. As tall as he was that action brought his head level with her breasts, and he wasted no time in taking full advantage of that fact. Sean held each breast in his large hand, and grinning up at her pushed them together, before he took both nipples into his mouth and sucked hard.

Sandy tugged at Zane’s restraints, and her knees would have buckled had Zane not pushed his thigh between her legs to keep her upright. Her head fell back against his shoulder, and she gave herself over to the intense sensations Sean’s talented tongue subjected her to. Her nipples had always been sensitive, a livewire straight to her clit, and with the dual sensation of Sean’s sucks and the gentle friction Zane’s leg created between her thighs, she climbed the rungs of arousal in record time. Her hips bucked against her husband’s leg as she sought to increase the friction she needed to go over.

A sharp bite to her shoulder coincided with Sean releasing his hold on her nipples with an audible pop.

“No coming without your Sirs’ permission, baby girl, or we’ll leave you hanging.”

Sure enough, Zane withdrew his thigh, while Sean grasped her hips to keep her steady. He kissed his way down her soft belly, interspersing kisses with little bites that left her hovering on the precipice. He bypassed her pussy and, flinging one of her legs over his shoulder, nibbled along the edge of her stocking.

“Hmm, as much as I love these, they need to come off. Look at me, pet.”

Sandy’s eyes flew open, and the sight of Sean between her legs made another gush of moisture trickle past the elastic of her thong. He licked that trail away, and she groaned.

“Please, I need to, please.”

Grinning, Sean blew a stream of hot air across her still covered slit, and her clit contracted in need.

“What do you need, sweet Sandy? Do you need to come?” He nudged his nose along her vulva, inhaling deeply, and Sandy jerked. Not that it got her very far because Zane’s hold on her wrists never lessened, and Sean’s fingers dug into her hips with so much pressure, she would surely be left with bruises. The thought of carrying his marks made breathing even more difficult, and she groaned her reply.

“Please, so close, I … God…”

She wasn’t entirely sure what pleas were spilling from her lips, and in truth she was far too gone to care. With Zane’s harsh breaths in her ear, and Sean’s dirty words she was a goner.

“So very eager. I can see your little clit push against this lace. You’re close, aren’t you, sweet thing? Such a turn-on. What do you think, Zane, should we let her come or torture her some more?”

Sean let go of her hips briefly to tear her thong clean off of her, and then he looked his fill.

“So very wet, and pink. Your hole is clenching, begging to be filled. What do you want in there, pet? My tongue? My fingers? My cock? Or Zane’s? Tell me, or I’ll leave you hanging and fuck your husband instead.”

“Whose idea was it to get an apartment on the third floor of a building with no fucking elevator?” she groaned, holding her head.

“If I recall, you wanted this place because of the rooftop deck. Said you could watch the sunrise whenever you wanted like you were on top of the world.”

“Yes, the roof!” Bristol nodded and clapped her hands excitedly. “Let’s go up there and look at the stars.”

“You need to get some sleep, B,” he protested as she pulled him through the small apartment to the stairway he knew led above.

“I will, but we can look at the stars now, then when you’re gone, I’ll think of you every time I look up at them. I’ll know you’re looking at the same stars, thinking of me.”

Roan knew she probably didn’t intend her words to be so sentimental, but the alcohol was acting like a truth serum, and it shut down her inhibitions. She rarely allowed anyone to see this side of her. Following her up the tiny flight of stairs, he was soon seated on a wooden lounge chair, with her between his legs, her back against his chest, his arms wrapped around her to keep her warm.

“See, there’s my favorite, Ursa Major, the Big Bear,” she pointed upwards.

“Isn’t that the Big Dipper?”

“Yes and no. The Big Dipper is part of the Big Bear, but they’re still two different constellations,” she explained. “My dad taught me that when I was tiny.”

Her voice was wistful when she spoke of her recently deceased father, and Roan hugged her tighter. Having lost his own mother to uterine cancer when he was eleven, he sympathized with her pain.

“Roan, how much longer do you think you can take doing these missions?” she asked randomly.

Stunned silent, he could only shrug behind her.

“You’ve been gone more than you’ve been home. Don’t you get lonely?”

“Sure, every Marine gets lonely occasionally, but I’m one of the lucky ones because I get constant contact. You and my family send me packages, letters, and cards, and I can use FaceTime on some missions, Skype on others. There are plenty of guys over there who don’t have access to any of that.”

“Would you stay if they gave you the option?”

Roan tensed and frowned down at the top of her head, “What do you mean?”

“I don’t know. I just hate when you’re gone. My world seems off-kilter somehow.” She sat up abruptly. “I’m like Lucy with no Ethel.”

“Excuse me?” He felt his eyebrow arch in question. “I am no Ethel. If anyone here is Lucy, it’s me.”

“Nah, Lucy was always instigating trouble, and Ethel just went along with it.”

“Which is exactly why I’m the Lucy in this relationship,” Roan laughed. She shivered, and he tugged her back against him. Instead of resuming their spooned position, she lay sideways against him, her shoulder on his chest, her hands dangerously close to forbidden territory. “If you’re cold, we should go back downstairs.”

“I don’t want to yet. I like having you all to myself,” she sighed and tipped her face up, the pale moonlight barely lighting her face properly. “Have you ever thought about giving it up? The Marines, I mean?”

“Aw, B, of course, it’s crossed my mind. Every man who’s had to watch a friend die or had to kill someone has second-guessed his career choice, but I was born to be a Marine. Giving it up would be like giving up air. My body just wouldn’t work anymore.”

She nodded, “I figured you would say something like that.”

“I always come back.”

RELEASE POINT by Maia Dylan @evernightpub @maiadylanauthor

RELEASE POINT – SNIPER TEAM BRAVO, 4

BLURB:

Snipers refer to a point where a decision made could change the course of a target’s journey, as the release point. When Maddox Devereaux walked away from Glenn Webster six months ago, he’d reached that point and the path he chose meant he could never go back.

Maddox headed into combat and eventually found himself being held captive and tortured in South America by the head of a drug cartel hell bent on revenge. For Maddox, he felt as if that might just be his penance.

Glenn was tired of his team thinking that he was broken. Yes he had been raped, yes it had been horrible, but he had found a way to deal with that. What he was finding hard to process was how he had pushed Maddox away right when he needed him most.

When they find out that Maddox is being held captive, Bravo do what they do best. They load up and go to war. Maddox comes home and it takes all of them to help him heal. Little do they know, they are now the ones being hunted.

Can Glenn and Maddox find their way back together, or will this release point result in an outcome neither of them will survive?

TEASER:

On the floor just inside the door, a man lay dead, a nasty looking knife wound at his temple. When Glenn’s gaze moved to the back of the room, he saw two men fully engaged in a knife battle. Both were bleeding heavily, but fighting with a confidence that spoke of hours of training. But only one of them was a man Glenn knew better than himself.

Glenn lifted his gun to put a bullet in the Hispanic man who was swinging his knife toward his spotter, but stopped when Maddox threw him a quick glance that gave Glenn pause. For whatever reason, Maddox needed to do this. Glenn cursed when Maddox moved with his opponent, putting his back toward Glenn. There were large strips of skin missing from his back, and huge, bleeding red welts. Add to that the knife wound Glenn had spotted on Maddox’s upper chest and the huge gash that marred his stomach, and he had no clue how he hell the man was still standing.

As he watched, Maddox’s opponent faked right in a move so obvious Glenn knew it was over. A split second later, Maddox cried out in triumph as he drove his knife to the hilt into the top of the other man’s skull. He was dead before he hit the ground. Maddox turned, swaying on his feet, his breathing heavy and fast.

The two of them stood in that hellhole, the smell of blood, and death thick in the air, and simply stared at each other. Maddox’s expression was one Glenn had never seen before. He had witnessed Maddox dispatch their enemies without any hesitation, doing what had to be done, but there was always a flicker of pain at having to take another man’s life. Especially in war when both were simply following the orders of others. In this moment, there was no remorse. No pain. No emotion whatsoever. It was as if Maddox had checked out.

Glenn stepped forward cautiously. “Maddox?” An ache appeared in the center of his chest when Maddox flinched.

“Am I dead?” Maddox asked in a stilted voice.

Glenn frowned. “Nah, man, you won that fight. You’re still standing.”

“Are you sure?” Maddox’s voice was slurred.

“Yeah, brother,” Marcel said from his position by the door. “You are definitely still standing, but we have no idea how the fuck you’re doing it.”

“Stubborn ass willpower would be my guess,” Dev growled as he strode forward, stepping past Glenn and approaching Maddox. Dev stopped immediately when Maddox shied away. “Maddox?”

“Why’re y’all here?”

Dev moved a step closer. “We’re here for you, dumb ass. You’re Bravo.”

Maddox shook his head. “No. Not Bravo. No absolution for me. I … failed–”

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A:  This is the final book in this series of four, and this whole series was my first foray into MM’s. Maddox and Glenn were always going to be the most emotional journey in this series, but I never anticipated how it would affect the readers.  I have had more people asking about this book than any other in this series.

Q:  What was your favorite part of writing this book?

A:  Finally getting to see Maddox and Glenn work their way to an HEA.  They have intrigued me from the very beginning and seeing them get together was so rewarding.  As an author, you most definitely bond with your characters, and in this book, that bond was strong!

Q: Why do you always include a danger element to your books?

A: I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book.  As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery.  I want to give that to my readers.

Q: Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

A: If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it!  Did you?  Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing.  If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!

Excerpt:

Shiloh pushed open the door to the first bedroom. She flicked on the switch, winced at the bright light, and immediately shut it off. Stripping out of her boots and clothes, she face planted on the bed, bare-assed as the day she was born. After a bit of wiggling, she managed to pull the covers over her and curled up in the center of the queen-size bed. It had been a long time since she’d had a bed to herself. Maybe if she weren’t completely plastered, she’d have enjoyed it a bit more. Of course, now that jerkwad was out of her life, she was going to have tons of time to sleep by herself.

The alcohol-induced haze made her feel like she was floating, drifting on a cloud. Her stomach no longer felt queasy. Shiloh closed her eyes and dozed. A while later, she thought she heard a noise in the room, but dismissed it as her imagination. Dallas had said she’d probably have the place to herself. And she’d remembered to lock the door. She sighed and rolled over. When the bed dipped, she bolted upright, clutching the blankets to her chest.

“Hello?” She tried to see in the inky darkness, but could only make out the shape of a man. Oh hell, had she picked the wrong bed?

There was a click and a lamp turned on. She squinted until her eyes adjusted. The man sitting beside her was even larger than his brother, and she hadn’t thought that was physically possible. Dark hair was buzzed short, and his profile showed a strong jaw and long, straight nose. There was an Army tattoo on one bicep. His broad back was toned, and his arms looked large enough to break someone in half. Or cuddle them really close. She gave herself a mental slap. When his blue eyes focused on her, her tongue stuck to the roof of her mouth. No one had ever looked at her like that before.

“Looks like my brother got me a going-away present after all.” Appreciation lit his eyes as he scanned her.

She shook her head.

“No? Well, sweetheart, I can’t think of any other reason for a naked woman to be in my bed.”

“I picked the wrong room,” she mumbled.

He gave her a sardonic smile. “I know for a fact Rebecca wouldn’t approve of Dallas sharing his room with any naked women except her. So, if you were looking to trap him in some way, you picked the wrong mark.”

“No, I … he’s helping me.”

The man turned and braced his hands on either side of her hips, leaning in close, his lips nearly brushing hers. “What I think is that your plan isn’t going the way you’d thought it would so you’re making up stories. But I’m a pretty nice guy. I’ll give you thirty seconds to get that sweet ass of yours out of my bed, dressed, and the fuck out of this apartment.”

She licked her lips and didn’t move.

“Or, if you’re still here in thirty seconds, I’m going to take it as an invitation and see if those lips taste as sweet as they look.”

Her eyes widened. He wouldn’t really kiss her, would he? She trembled a little at the thought of the powerful man caging her in putting his lips on hers. The thought of his hands on her body… Heat flushed her cheeks and spread down into her chest. She wasn’t seriously considering sitting here just to see if he’d really do it, was she?

“Time’s up.”

Her lips parted, but before she could utter a word of protest, his mouth pressed against hers, his tongue invading and tasting. Oh Lord! Shiloh had never been kissed so thoroughly before. His expertise was enough to make her weak-kneed and ready to beg for more. Her body burned and she dropped the blankets to reach for him. As he pushed her back against the bed, she became acutely aware of the fact he was just as naked as her.

Was she really about to have sex with a complete stranger? She didn’t even know his name!

He trailed hot kisses down her neck, giving her ear a nip. A shiver skated down her spine as her nipples puckered. Oh, hell yeah! He can do whatever he wants to me.

About the Author:

Paige Warren spends her days weaving tales about alpha male cowboys and the women who love them. There’s nothing hotter than a man in tight Wranglers and a pair of well-worn boots. You have to admit, there’s something sexy about a man who knows how to use a rope!

A cat lover, she has more than one furbaby running around, keeping her company in the wee hours of the morning as she tries to find just the right way to say “His skin gleamed, the early morning rays caressing his sun bronzed flesh, as he studied her from beneath the brim of his Stetson.” Or, you know, something similar.

When Paige isn’t dolling out tons of affection on the furbabies, or slurping down a pot of coffee (Yes! A whole pot!) so she can get in her daily word count, she enjoys reading and watching movies—romances, usually.

Be Warned: menage sex (MFM), anal sex, double penetration, spanking

Excerpt

It felt good to be back on American soil. While Mikhail thought of himself as more Russian than American, America had been his home for all his life and always would be.

Mikhail stepped out of the steamy bathroom and finished toweling off as he padded into the locker room. Nodding to his teammates who were scattered around in various states of undress, he grabbed up a pair of jeans and pulled them on.

Three weeks since their mission to extract the CIA operative from Greece without anyone, official or not, the wiser. While it hadn’t been smooth, they’d gotten in and out without alerting anyone they’d ever been there. Bad guys notwithstanding, of course.

He buttoned up his fly and crammed his feet into a pair of boots. Mikhail pulled on his shirt before dropping to sit on the bench to do up his boots.

They’d been in endless meetings and sessions to debrief since they’d gotten out of Greece with the operative. All they knew about her was her code name for the op, Sugar. Not exactly fitting given the venom she’d directed their way the entire flight out of the country and then back to the States. But then again, she hadn’t looked all that happy before they’d met her.

What her mission had been in the country, Mikhail couldn’t say. But since they were currently on friendly terms with Greece, who the fuck knew. Especially when it came to the spooks. Those guys just loved to root around in the darkest of corners looking for enemies and, if they couldn’t find any, making new ones.

He stomped his feet a little to settle the boots in place. Just as he grabbed his leather jacket, the door into the locker room crashed open and four MPs came in.

“Sorry, sirs. The admiral has requested your presence immediately.”

Mikhail knew it wasn’t an actual “request.” No one, an admiral especially, needed four heavily armed MPs to pass on a “request.” No, it was an order, and he bet if it weren’t obeyed the MPs had very specific and detailed instructions about what to do.

He shrugged on his jacket and leaned against his locker as his cohorts finished dressing. None of them were in any apparent rush. While the MPs had said immediately, and he knew the admiral had meant yesterday, they weren’t going to just give in. That wasn’t how they were made. His fellow team members gravitated into their duos, as usual. He wasn’t surprised when Gareth shot him a small, crooked grin. The men weren’t couples, but they all worked together very well and—at least where he and Gareth were concerned—shared women more often than not.

Rubbing a hand over his mouth, he hid his smirk as James “Fury” Ashton asked Owen “Viper” Lueger which shirt went with his eyes better. Always pushing the envelope, that one. When Mikhail caught the look on the MPs faces and the way they were fiddling with their sidearms, he cleared his throat. He gave his team a couple of signals out of sight of the MPs.

It got everyone moving faster. If a bunch of highly trained military cops were that twitchy, something big was going down. No need to provoke them more than absolutely necessary.

As they left the locker room as a unit, Mikhail noticed they all exchanged the same look. He knew no one had a clue what was going on and that they didn’t like it—especially since they’d all just been told they had three weeks’ leave. Which, in their minds, meant they got to leave, no questions asked.

Not good.

****

Twenty minutes later, Mikhail could not believe how fucking right he’d been. “Excuse me, sir. I mean zero disrespect, sir, but are you off your fucking rocker?” he asked.

His teammates all nodded. Yeah, every single one of them had been thinking it. Mikhail was just craziest of the bunch to say it out loud. It was part of his rep, and he did love living up to his rep.

“I wish,” Admiral Weller said. He rubbed a hand over his military-regulation cut and looked at them all.

Mikhail couldn’t believe how old Admiral Weller looked right then. Sharing a worried look with Nolan, he shook his head. “Sir, this is crazy. I might buy that Nolan might believe in the Greek gods, growing up as he had, but coming from you…” He shook his head again. “I’m sorry, sir, but I’m not buying it.”

“You’d better,” a new voice said. One that was deep, bowels-of-hell deep, and sent a shiver down Mikhail’s spine.

Mikhail spun and looked up—yeah, up—at seven-and-a-half feet of solid muscle covered in leather. Holy shit, where the fuck did this guy come from?

“Olympus by way of Athens,” the large male said. He turned his blacker-than-night eyes to the admiral. “Andrew, sorry I’m late. Had a small family matter to attend to.”

“No apologies needed, come on in and grab a seat. I think I’ll let you tell them the rest of this, as they don’t seem to be taking me seriously.”

The large man chuckled and—no joke—Mikhail could have sworn the room actually pitched and rolled like the deck of a battleship on high seas.

“They are trained to believe what they can see, hear, and touch, Andrew. Of course, they are not going to just take you at your word.” He walked around them, surprisingly light on his feet, and took the seat the admiral had offered.

Mikhail saw the same what-the-fuck expression on Nolan’s face that had to be on his own. The guy, on a first-name basis with the admiral, seemed to be buying into the same delusion, too. This would be interesting to hear. He wondered why no one was questioning the unvoiced questions, but these men knew him well enough to know that he would fill them all in later on everything.

“It’s not a delusion, Mikhail,” the guy said. “The Greek gods are real, all of us.”

“So, we’re to believe you’re one?” Lincoln “Saber” Jamison asked.

“Yes.”

“Right,” Thomas “Brick” Gordon drawled out in his Southern manner. “Which one, just so we keep it all straight and shit?”

The admiral’s expression showed his discomfort. Not a look one expected of a career military man who’d been through more wars than most could lay claim to—and all on the front lines for the most part.

“Ares,” the male said.

“God of War,” Stefan “Orion” Patras said softly. “Son of Zeus and Hera.”

“Bingo,” the big male said. “Got it in one. Which, considering your heritage, I’d be truly miffed if you hadn’t.”

Shooting his Greek team mate a look, Mikhail shook his head. “Okay, I have a question, if we’re all going to play along with this delusion.”

“It’s no delusion and yes, the gods are real.” Ares, or whoever the fuck he was, got up from his chair. He pushed it out of the way and settled with his feet spread so they were right under his shoulders.
A flash of light and they were staring at the guy in full battle regalia. As in, ancient armor with one hell of a big-ass sword in hand, tip to the floor. Oddly enough, the guy seemed even bigger.

He walked straight toward Mikhail.

Standing his ground, Mikhail notched his chin up to keep eye contact with the guy. A lot harder than he’d thought, now that the guy’s eyes were silver pools, much like a whirlpool, trying to suck him in.

“Military men are always the hardest to convince,” the god said. Then he smiled, showing perfectly white teeth, and lifted a hand. “Let’s see if I can’t convince you, shall we?”

All she wants to do is help her aunt take care of her ill grandmother—until a gorgeous green-eyed Army Captain moves back into town.

The last thing Captain Remington Bennett expects to find is a pretty brunette while out on his morning run…

Intrigued by the woman he passes almost every morning, Remy is determined to get to know the brown-eyed beauty. Kenzie is reluctant to get too close, but his persistence in pursuing her slowly breaks down her defenses, turning what started out as nothing more than a nod and a shy smile into something neither of them could have predicted.

War has already taken too much from her, and Kenzie can’t afford to lose her heart to a soldier…

Even though the mutual attraction becomes too strong to ignore, Kenzie keeps fighting her feelings for the handsome Captain. But when Remy is called out on a mission and she’s faced with the possibility he might not come back, Kenzie realizes she may have let her only chance at love slip through her fingers.

Honor by J.L. Drake

Bullets fly during a dangerous mission, and Major Mark Lopez is critically injured… A Blackstone soldier, Mark is transferred to the North Dakota hospital with the security clearance to treat members of the elite covert team. The pretty new nurse assigned to his case knows her stuff, but Mark soon discovers she knows more than just how to save lives. Mia Harper knows the Blackstone Code. Mia is a bit of gypsy and doesn’t engage much with people—but there’s something about her mysterious new patient… After Mark recovers from surgery, he is discharged from the hospital with orders to rest. Not that he does. Instead he rushes to México for the team’s next assignment. But when he returns to the hospital again and again with minor—and not so minor—injuries, Mia suspects he’s only coming to see her. Romance ignites, and because Mia signed a non-disclosure agreement at the hospital, Mark is able to open up more with Mia than any other woman. Some debts demand payment in either cash or blood… When someone from Mark’s past comes to him for help, old secrets start to resurface, and more blood is shed. Worlds collide and lies are exposed in an all-or-nothing underground poker game. Mark must put his life on the line to keep Mia safe…and to finally learn the answer to the question that’s haunted him his whole life.  What really happened that night twenty-five years ago?

Forever My Soldier

All Patricia Fitzgerald wants is to live happily ever after with her soldier…

With their relationship finally out in the open, and Carter on the fast track to recovery, Patty spends Black Friday helping him with his charity event. Their attempt to spread Christmas cheer is interrupted, though, when Patty’s ex-boyfriend Ben, who has been harassing her for months, shows up. Fearing for Patty’s life, one of the men on the protection detail springs into action.

Patty finally thinks her worries are over, but the media won’t leave her alone…

The press is everywhere. Patty wants to move on with her life, but they’re relentless in their badgering about the circumstances surrounding Ben. If that isn’t enough stress to endure, someone spikes Patty’s drink during a New Year’s Eve event, and it isn’t her meddling ex. Luckily, Carter is there to save her when she collapses, but this constant threat to her life isn’t going away.

Planning a wedding becomes tedious instead of fun when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder…

A cake tasting is supposed to be one of those days as a future bride when you get to sit back and take a break from the chaos of planning the ceremony. Someone new is out there, though, and they aren’t happy with how Patty handled Ben and her newfound fame in the press. Can Carter manage to keep his fiancé safe long enough to put their ordeal with Ben behind them for good and finally become…

…forever her soldier?

Alison Mello is a wife and stay at home mom to a wonderful little boy. She lives with her amazing family in Massachusetts.

She loves playing soccer, basketball and football with her son. After having her son, Alison started reading again and fell in love with Contemporary Romance.

Reading made her happy and gave her something to do when she had downtime.

As she started to read more, she started to noticed things she really enjoyed in a book and things she didn’t. She began to have ideas for writing one of her own. One day she literally woke up and started writing. She realized that if there was ever a time for her to write, it was now. She had a part time job to give her something to do.

The hours at work were slow and she was bored with what she was doing, so while her son was off enjoying his friends over summer vacation she got started.

Alison finished the first book in two weeks and decided that she really enjoyed writing, so she kept going. She already had ideas in mind for books two and three, so she kept writing.

That is how the Learning to Love Series was born. Somewhere along the line, one of my Beta readers convinced me that Michael, a character from Finding Love, needed his own story.

That is when Alison added the fourth and final book. Alison hopes you enjoy her books as much as she enjoyed writing them.

TEASER EXCERPT:

“So, this is where you’ve been hiding.”

Marcel looked up at the sound of the voice, and his gaze locked with Riley’s, who was leaning on the door jamb of the room Marcel had turned into a makeshift office. It had been four days since the incident with the I-beam, and Marcel hadn’t realized how much he’d missed simply looking at Riley. The cowboy construction worker was dressed in a tight white t-shirt, jeans covered with construction dust, a well-worn pair of steel cap work boots, and the ever-present black Stetson.

Marcel sat back in the kitchen chair he’d snagged to work in and crossed his arms over his chest. “Saying that I was hiding would imply that I either A, had a reason to hide, which could imply guilt of some description. Or B, there was something or someone I was avoiding and was indeed seeking a place in which to hide. Now, as I am neither guilty of anything, nor am I avoiding anyone in particular, then I can assure you that I have not been hiding.”

Riley pushed off the doorjamb with a grin and walked into the room. “Then I guess I was wrong.” Marcel quirked an eyebrow and sent the man a pointed look, making Riley wince sheepishly. “Yeah, okay, not the first time I said the wrong thing to you. And that was what I wanted to come and talk to you about. And to apologize for.”

Marcel grinned back and leaned forward in his chair, placing his elbows on the desk in front of him. “Really? Well, in that case, please go right ahead. I am, as they say, all ears?”

Riley moved closer to the opposite side of the desk and placed both fists on the surface, leaning forward. “That’s good, because I wouldn’t want to have to do this twice. When you came onto the site the other day, I should have called you back and explained that the site was now locked down. I failed in my duty as foreman to do that, because, well, to be perfectly honest, I was too busy looking at your ass and imagining it bare for my viewing pleasure as you walked away from me to think about what you weren’t wearing on the top half of your body.”

Marcel blinked slowly as shock filled his system. He had known that Riley was attracted to him. He wasn’t blind to the way the man watched him, and Marcel sure as hell wasn’t immune to Riley either. But this was the first time either of them had actually spoken about that attraction out loud.

“When Dale called out that there was movement in the chain holding the ridge I-beam and I looked up, I knew it was coming down. From my vantage point, I could see that it was going to land on you. I dropped what I was carrying and sprinted for you. I was so fucking scared that I wasn’t going to get there in time. Then, when I tackled you, if you had resisted at all both of us could have ended up seriously injured, but instead you rolled with me, which I am extremely grateful for.”

Marcel shrugged. “That’s what we’re trained to do.”

“Yeah, and that leads me into the apology portion of my visit today.” Riley leaned in slightly. “I am really sorry for what I said to you. I never meant to imply that you were an idiot and that shit about you lacking reflexes was a total pile of bullshit. All I can say is that I was acting out of fear, and if I had been thinking I would have caught myself before I shoved my foot so far down my throat I could kick my own ass.”

Marcel huffed a laugh. “You certainly have a way with words.”

Riley sent him a cocky grin that had excitement fluttering in Marcel’s belly. “Wait until I’m convincing you to go to bed with me, then you’ll get a real good understanding of just how good I can be with words.”

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A:  This is the second book in a series of four and it all stemmed from an image I found that sparked my interest.  That is one of the very real reasons I love writing! You find inspiration everywhere and a story idea can strike at any time.

Q:  Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all.  Have you had this happen to you?

A:  Heaps!  I am not a planner.  I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl.  There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF?  I did not see that coming!  This whole series started with an image I found that I simply couldn’t let go of.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I have book nine of the Grey River series, as well as book three in the Sniper Team Bravo series.  There is also a new Shifter Ménage series coming soon and a standalone MM as well.  Soooo many stories to tell, so little time!

Author bio:

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand.  She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.

Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books.  Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library.  She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.

Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook!  Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow.  She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.

Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can.  As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!

As she started to read more, she started to notice things she really enjoyed in a book and things she didn’t.

She’s so glad she started this writing journey and hopes you will stay with her for the ride. Chasing Dreams is scheduled to release in April and the first two books of the Love Conquers Life series will be out this summer!
