Marshall Armstrong had finally come for Aaron. He’d been working toward it from the moment he’d had to fake his own death. Now, just when he had enough money and resources to take Aaron back, Aaron’s father, Franklin George knew his son was alive and that Marshall had a few secrets of his own.

STORY EXCERPT:

Aaron growled. “Maybe I’ve gotten better at lying now. I’m way more secretive than I was when you knew me. Everyone thought I was dead. I left the day of the explosion with nothing but our emergency pack. No one knew I was here living my life until recently.”

“I’ve always known where you were,” Marshall answered honestly. “You took the identity I’d had created for you, so I knew where to find you from the moment you left.”

“Then why the hell didn’t you come to me sooner?” Aaron asked in a small voice.

Marshall reached out, wanting to touch him, to ease his pain, but stopped short when Aaron flinched away from him. Not that he could blame him for the reaction at all.

“Franklin is powerful and determined to make the damn Senate. If he had known you were alive earlier, he would have killed you just to tidy up that loose end. He couldn’t have his own son coming out and telling the world what an asshole he is. Aaron, even when I knew I shouldn’t, I kept up with what you were doing. I’ve fucking stalked you from afar for years. What existed between us was real.”

Aaron’s gaze swung to him. “Really? Because I loved you with everything I had and losing you destroyed who I was. Flames were lifting into the air, and gas bottles were exploding and all I could think about was walking straight into that burning building so that I could go with you.”

Marshall’s heart broke at that. “Baby. I am so sorry I had to put you through that. But I had to get you away from Franklin and I knew you wouldn’t go without me. Franklin wasn’t going to let me go, Aaron. I was an asset he had no desire to lose. If we had run together, he would have come after us with everything he had. I knew that the only reason you would go by yourself is if you thought I was dead.”

Aaron frowned. “Why couldn’t we have just left together? If he was convinced that I died in that fire, why wouldn’t he accept it was both of us? Damn it, Marshall I managed to leave that day and no one came looking for me for seven years! I started a new life and fought for a chance to live it. Why couldn’t we have done that together?”

Marshall took a deep breath. He’d known this conversation had to happen, but he hadn’t expected it to be so soon. “He was going to take you away that night, Marshall. He was going to take you from me and use you to control me. Every option I looked at to save you resulted in you being hurt or killed. I was too young, I had very little experience with everything, and I panicked. Making it look like the explosion killed you was the only option I came up with that got you away from him.”

“Why the hell did you stay?” He could hear anger in Aaron’s voice. “You could have gotten away from him at any time.”

Self-loathing threatened to drown him. “I had to make sure you remained safe. And without you, I just stopped caring about anything else. Your father claimed your life insurance, had a funeral, and publically mourned your death. And I did it all with a happy heart because I knew that you were alive and that you were free.”

“But what about you, Marshall,” Aaron asked quietly, “weren’t you worth saving, too?”

Marshall turned to look out at the road ahead. “I may have been then, but everything I have done since, what your father has turned me into, all of it makes me beyond salvation now.

Aaron made a dismissive sound. “That’s bullshit. No one is so far gone that they can’t be saved, either from my father or themselves. You’ve already said that a lot of what you have had to do over the years was at the bequest of Franklin George. It sounds to me that the fault lies with him, not you.”

“But it was me pulling the trigger all those years, Aaron, and not always at Franklin’s request,” Marshall answered, turning to give him a sad look. “It’s me that took money from your father and others to kill the people they most needed eliminated from their lives. And it’s me who has to somehow reconcile everything that I have done since I left you seven years ago so that I can sleep at night,” Marshall took a moment trying to find the words that would explain it. “You could say this is about vengeance with a strong dose of penance for me and that would be a lot closer to the truth, but it would certainly not grant me absolution.”

Book Blurb:

Melaina Christakos was beginning to understand just how true that was. She had always known her father was insane, hard not to when the man insisted on experimenting on her and the women she considered family. But the depth of his madness becomes more apparent when she awakes in a hospital with no real memory of who she is and a light within that tells her not all is as it seems.

Kyle and Grant Snow are being kept from their mate, and both of them have retribution in mind. Melaina is in danger, and they need to get to her and will kill anyone who stands in their way.

Once they find her, can Kyle and Grant prove that their future together was more than worth the pain of remembering her past?

The story…

STORY EXCERPT:

Kyle stood up and walked toward the cold beers they had left on the table. “As I said before we even started on this journey, no more running like a pussy and no letting our father take this from us. We need to make our peace with our past, and move on to our future.” Kyle popped the top of two cold beers and handed on to his brother.
Grant reached out and grabbed the bottle and met Kyle’s gaze over the bottle as they both still held it in their hand. “I swear to you, Kyle, I am in this a hundred percent on this one. I know you still doubt me, but wait until you are in the same room as her. I believe that we will experience the Quickening once we are close enough to her, and then you will know for sure.”
Rhys and Jase Wilson had announced just recently they had found their mate, Parris, but had not been struck with the Quickening in that first moment of meeting. Both of them had to practically bury their nose in the woman’s neck before they experienced it. Parris, Melaina, and another woman called Pepper had been given these drugs to enhance certain psychic talents, but it had a very strange side effect. It masked a person’s scent. The person who had fed the three women that cocktail was Aristos Christakos, and what was even more fucked up about this whole situation was that the prick was Melaina’s father. And that was the first of what Kyle hoped would be many things they had in common. Both their fathers would never have won any father of the year awards.
A knock at the door to their motel room had them both tensing. Kyle spun around toward the entry and placed his barely touched beer on the dining table against the wall. He shared a quick look with his brother and knew that neither of them had heard anyone approaching. This was unusual given their enhanced hearing and left him unnerved. He lifted his head slightly and scented the air. There was nothing on the air to tell him who stood behind the door and his heart began to beat a little faster.
“Take the left,” Kyle sent to his brother down their familial link before he stood to the right of the front door, carefully lifting the curtain on the window beside it to see who stood at the door. He was surprised to see that the light just in front of their door had been extinguished. The figure stood in the darkened doorway wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and their shoulders hunched. Although it was difficult to make out who it was, the figure was slight.
“Is it her?” Grant’s anxiety was evident in his voice.
Kyle didn’t take the time to answer because he had a very strong feeling that it was, and he didn’t want her out in the open any longer than necessary. He opened the door as quickly and quietly as he could, with the intention of waving the person into the room with little or no hesitation. He needn’t have worried, for as soon as the door was open the figure slipped in the slight gap and moved to the far wall, placing them out of view of anyone who happened to have been watching the door.
Kyle closed the door and then moved to stand in front of it with his arms crossed over his chest. If this wasn’t the elusive Melaina Christakos, then he and Grant were destined to have separate mates. Although this person’s scent was subtle, as they moved past her he caught a slight hint of spice that had his blood running hot and his dick filling fast.
Not taking his eyes off the newcomer, he spoke to Grant down their link. “Did you catch that scent?”
“Yeah, I did. It’s the second time I’ve caught a slight trace of it, and I have to tell you, my physical reaction is exactly the same.”
“Didn’t your mother ever teach you that it’s rude to talk about someone when they’re standing in the room with you?” Her voice was liquid sex as far as Kyle was concerned, filled with a sensual heat that had him wanting to close his eyes and groan. He fought the urge though as she lifted her hands to push back the hood of her sweatshirt, as more and more of her was revealed he knew he wouldn’t have missed this moment for the world. She had long, thick black hair. There was a slight curl to it, and made a man want to sink his hands right in, and pull her closer. She had startling blue eyes that reminded Kyle of her sister Xanthe’s, and to top it all off, she had full lips that simply begged to be kissed.

ADULT EXCERPT:

“The hottest damn thing in the world,” Kyle murmured as he reached around her to slide her sweatshirt from her shoulders, “is knowing that a woman plugs herself for her men. Do you fuck yourself with the plug, honey? Do you drag it in and out of your hot, tight ass and think about what it will feel like when it’s my cock? Or Grant’s?”
Melaina’s heart pounded so hard, she wondered if it was at all possible for it to actually burst from her chest. “Yes, yes I did.” Both men growled at her admission and a spark of feminine power the likes of which she had never experienced before ignited through her system. “I-I’ve been thinking a lot about the two of you, watching you both from afar.”
Kyle hummed close to her ear and she trembled as his chest rumbled against her back. “Although I am not too crazy about the fact that you were out there, just looking at us, and not coming over and letting us take care of you, I have to admit, knowing you’ve been watching so closely, certainly turns me the fuck on.” Kyle rolled his hips against her ass and Melaina felt the hard edge of his cock rub against her.
Grant stepped back slightly and removed the black tank top she wore beneath her sweatshirt. Once the shirt was off, Kyle gently pulled her hair back off her back. Then he reached for the tie she had used to secure it in a ponytail and released her hair. She closed her eyes as he used his fingers to comb through it, loving how gentle he was.
Kyle sighed a happy and contented sound that had Melaina smiling. “This hair is so damn beautiful, black with just a hint of midnight blue. It catches the light and moves like it’s actually fluid.”
Grant reached for the front snap of her bra and released it before sliding the straps off her shoulders. “Well, shit, would you look at that? The most perfect woman in the world for us and of course she would have the most perfect pair of breasts I have ever seen.” He gently gripped her by the shoulders and turned her toward Kyle, and Melaina was quickly learning that she loved being the center of attention for them both. It made her entire body heat in the most delicious way. “Wouldn’t you agree, brother?”
Kyle bit his bottom lip and growled low before lifting his gaze to hers. His eyes shimmered with heat, and his salacious grin was contagious and she couldn’t help but grin back. “Most definitely. But I want to see the whole delicious package.” He reached out, his gaze never leaving hers, gripped the waistband of her jeans at both her hips, and gently pulled them down, sliding them down her legs until he knelt before her, all the while holding her gaze with his.
Grant let out a low whistle. “Hot. So fucking hot.” He pressed a finger against the base of the plug she wore and all remnants of the doubts she’d had about the damn thing evaporated beneath the sparks of pleasure that ignited within her. She stepped out of her jeans and shoes, then stood breathlessly waiting for what came next.
Kyle’s gaze dropped and he moaned. “Fuck me. You don’t wear panties? Christ, I may never let you leave a room without fucking you on the closest flat surface again. And, baby, I love that you keep your pussy bare. It means that you were completely open to us.”
Grant reached around to cup her bare breasts and Melaina moaned as he rubbed her nipples between his thumb and forefinger. A jolt of lightning zinged into her pussy at the move and her hips shot forward of their own accord.
“Kyle’s gonna make you feel really good, Mel, and I’m going to hold you hard against my chest. I want to feel every shudder, every shiver of pleasure you feel when you come for us. You had better not bite back any of those sexy sounds you make. I want to hear every last gasp.”
Grant leaned in and bit gently into the soft flesh of her shoulder and Melaina inhaled sharply, only to cry out as Kyle opened his mouth against her pussy. She shuddered when Kyle used his tongue against her engorged clit and her orgasm began to build within her, larger than she had ever experienced at her own hand, and she sure as hell had never come with a man before.
With a few short strokes of his tongue, Kyle had her approaching her orgasm at a million miles an hour. Desperately she tried to halt it, not wanting the feeling and the attention to end, but then, almost as if it were planned, Grant pinched and tugged her nipples, adding a slight bit to her pleasure as Kyle gently bit down on her clit. And that was it.
Screaming her joy to the world, she tumbled into pleasure, clinging to the two men who had driven her to such dizzying heights and who had no idea this was all a part of her plan.

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author. What is it about this book that makes it special for you?
A: I have been waiting for Melaina’s story for a long time now, ever since she wandered into Xanthe’s story and caught the eye of Deputy Sheriff Grant Snow. Now I had the chance to finish the story and that means Kyle and Grant can stop pestering me for their happily ever after!

Q: Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all. Have you had this happen to you?
A: Heaps! I am not a planner. I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl. There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF? I did not see that coming! Over the next few books, there are answers that start to help explain a few things for my characters, and I didn’t know that the connections ran so deeply.

Q. Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?
A. I write what I love to read. I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book. As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery. I want to give that to my readers.

Q. Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
A. If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it! Did you? Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing. If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand. She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.
Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books. Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library. She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.
Maia submitted her first ever manuscript to Siren Publishing in 2015. She wasn’t at all confident that it would be accepted and in fact she was expecting a nicely worded email with a resounding no! Much to her surprise less than two weeks later she had an acceptance and a signed contract in hand. .
Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook! Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow. She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.
Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can. As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!

STORY EXCERPT:

“Oh God, Chris, I don’t know if I can do this,” Angel sobbed and Noah felt a pain settle in his heart at her distress.

“Angel, of course you can,” Noah tried his best to channel the soft and encouraging tone his brother had been using.

“Noah’s right baby, you are one of the strongest women I know! You want to meet your baby boy, I know you do, and I can assure you he wants to meet you too,” Chris moved lower and Noah watched his hands working to help Angel birth her baby, and from the way she was tensing again, Noah knew a contraction had just hit her. He leaned into her, pushing her forward like she wanted and took her weight for her.

“That’s it, Angel! Here he comes, baby, here he comes… I’ve got him!” Chris announced as Angel collapsed, sobbing uncontrollably against Noah. A few seconds later there was a small cry, then a full-on wailing as the baby screamed his displeasure at what had just happened. Chris tore of his shirt, wrapped the baby in it and then immediately moved to place the bundle on his mama.

“Oh, my god, oh my god,” Angel cried as she wrapped her arms around the precious bundle and stared into the wrinkled little face. “Hi! Hi, baby boy, I’m your mama. Oh! You are so beautiful,” she whispered as she pressed her lips to his little forehead. Noah had to agree, he was looking at a strikingly beautiful baby, despite being fresh out of the oven and covered in…stuff.

“Fresh out of the oven,”—Chris’s laughing voice came down their link—“I dare you to say that out loud!”

Noah sent him a small smile and shook his head. He might have only just met Angel, but he knew that she wouldn’t find that description flattering at all. He had registered the sirens in the distance in the final moments of Angel giving birth, but hadn’t paid it any notice. Now he felt relief when he heard another ambulance screech to a halt outside the house.

“The ambulance is here, Angel,” Chris said tenderly, and Noah watched with a heavy heart as Chris leaned over and pressed a kiss to first Angel’s forehead and then the baby’s. “They are going to take you straight up to Labor and Delivery to get you cleaned up and I’ll meet you there, okay?” Angel’s head flew up and whatever Chris saw in her gaze had him reassuring her. “I promise, baby, I will only be a couple of minutes behind you. I need to talk with Noah for a moment and then we’ll come up and see you.” Angel nodded hesitantly and Noah knew she would have rather had Chris go with her.

“Go with her, Chris.” Noah used their link for the first time, in a very long time. “She’s scared and she needs you.”

Chris was quiet as his gaze bore into Noah and he felt almost stripped naked by the intensity of it. “There is nothing I want more than to go with her, but I think you and I need to have a conversation first.”

The next few minutes were filled with people moving quickly and efficiently to get Angel onto a stretcher and then they hustled her to the front of the house. Noah stayed back and out of sight. His head was spinning now that the adrenaline of the moment had faded, and it reminded him that he had recently suffered significant blood loss, still had three bullets in his back and a system full of jax. All in all, it was fucking surprising he was still on his feet.

“Noah,” Chris moved toward him, and Noah couldn’t stop himself from taking a small step back. He saw the pain on Chris’s face and immediately regretted the move, but Noah was worried about whether or not the poison could be absorbed by Chris if he came in contact with his blood. Until he found out for sure, he was keeping his brother safe. Just as he always had and always would.

Chris made a frustrated sound as he ran his hands through his hair, a move Noah knew very well. “Shit, Noah. You’ve been gone for eight months. Eight fucking months with no word from you! You closed yourself off from our bond, and like a dumbass little brother I kept talking to you. Did you even hear me at all?”

“No,” Noah felt acid boiling in his stomach. He had never lied to Chris. Oh, sure he had omitted stuff, but what older brother didn’t? But bald face lied to his face? Never. Not until that very moment.

Chris exhaled hard, as if Noah had actually punched him in the stomach. “Okay then, so you left and severed contact with me. Why?” The pleading in his voice and filling his eyes almost had Noah telling him everything, just to get Chris to feel better.

“I’m just not meant to be here, Chris.” Noah didn’t lie this time. He truly believed he wasn’t worthy of returning to Grey River. Working as an Enforcer, and taking out shifter assholes that break their laws was his penance. “I can’t be here.”

“What about Angel? I know you felt the Quickening, the same as I did.” Chris stepped right up and got in his face and Noah almost smiled. Chris was the healer, not the fighter of the two brothers, but for his mate, he would stand toe-to-toe with a killer, and that was exactly what Noah was. “Are you just going to turn your back on our triad? Everything we hoped for and prayed for growing up is right in fucking front of us for the taking. Are you gonna reach out with me, and grab a hold of her and never fucking let her go?”

ADULT EXCERPT

“Sweetheart, I want you so damn badly I ache,” he said softly. “But I want this to be about us, not just about me. Tell me you want me. Tell us you want us and how you want us to take you and it’s yours. Everything we have, everything we are, is yours.”

Angel’s grin became wicked. She stepped into him, lifting her hand up to unclasp the front of her bra and drop it to the ground at his feet. Noah’s tongue quickly became stuck to the roof of his mouth as it dried out.

“Oh, Noah honey, I’m sure it will be all about us. And everything that I am belongs to you and Chris, so I guess that trade is even.” She wrapped her left hand around his neck and her right dropped down and behind her to tug on the pocket of his jeans and she tugged them both closer.

“Now, physically I know how things can go in a ménage relationship.” Angel paused as she leaned to the side so both he and Chris could see her face and gave them a coy look, “I’ve ah—loved ménage books for a long time now, and I’ve always thought it would be hot to be taken by two men at the same time.”

Noah shared a quick startled glance with Chris. They wanted that more than anything, but they didn’t think she was physically ready for that, and Noah fought to find the words to tell her that.

“Angel—” both he and Chris said at the same time, but Angel spoke over them, not giving them the chance to finish.

“But, I’m not ready for that yet. Soon, but not now. But because I love being pressed between you, do you think there is a way for me to stay pressed between you?” Her voice dropped to a sultry whisper at the end of her request and Noah nodded. Hell yeah there was a way.

He quickly sent his plan to Chris down their link who nodded eagerly in agreement.

“Sweetheart, wrap your arms around my neck.” Noah waited while Angel did as he asked and he rubbed his nose against her, loving her sweet giggle. “Good girl. Now, I’m going to lift you up against me and I want you to wrap your legs around my hips. Once I’m buried to the hilt inside that beautiful soft, naked pussy of yours, I want you to lean back so that you’re leaning on Chris.”

Noah reached down and lifted their mate high against his chest, loving that her legs came up immediately to wrap around him. She surprised him a little when she leaned back and clasped his dick in her hand, making him curse.

“Oh Noah, you feel like hard steel wrapped in warm silk.” The awe and need in her voice had his heart pounding hard in his chest. “I’m on the pill and I can’t wait to feel you inside me.”

Noah started counting slowly to ten when she moved to press the head of his cock against the lips of her pussy. He could feel the wet heat of her and he called on every ounce of control he had in his body. She slowly lowered herself on him and when he saw her wince, he gripped her hips.

“Did that hurt?” He gritted between his teeth. Chris stepped in closer and pressed against her back.

“Are you in pain, Angel?” his concerned voice was slightly muffled as Chris pressed his lips to the soft skin at their mate’s neck.

“Oh no! Not at all. I just realized that even though I might not have a concern about you being naked inside me, you might want to wear a condom.” Noah hated to hear the doubt in her voice, so pushed forward until he was settled balls deep inside her and she gasped as her arms flew up to wrap around his shoulders.

“Does that feel like I am anything but turned on and harder than granite at the pleasure and honor of being inside you with no barriers between us?” he said, his voice harsh.

Her beautiful brown eyes were wide and filled with wonder as she shook her head.

“I fucking love being inside your body, and feeling every inch of your cunt ripple around my cock makes me the happiest damn man on the face of the earth. Now, lean back against Chris, my love, and let me have you.” He waited, his body vibrating with the need to move, as she did as he asked and Chris took her arms off Noah’s shoulders and drew them up over his own head so that she clasped them behind his head. The move had her breast thrusting straight up and his control snapped at the sight.

 Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A:  This is my first MMF book and I absolutely adored writing it.  I have been a huge fan of MMF books for a long time now, and although it was a challenge, it was one that I embrace and totally enjoyed.

  1. Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?

  1. What are you working on at the moment?
  2. Grey River has so many stories to tell, and I am currently working on book seven of this series. When I sat down to start writing this book, I had a story in mind and had assumed it would be a particular story. But, I was a little taken a back when I started to write about a female character I had yet encountered.  And I was shocked as hell when she turned out to be the Fated mate of two characters I hadn’t realized even had a story to tell yet!

I am also writing Olwen and Rohan’s story in The Goddess claims her Guard which is book five which is the last one in my Shifters of Freedom Springs series.  I love the mythological angle of this series!

  1. Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

Author bio:

Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand.  She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.

Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books.  Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library.  She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.

In January of this year, Maia submitted her first ever manuscript to Siren Publishing.  She wasn’t at all confident that it would be accepted and in fact she was expecting a nicely worded email with a resounding no!  Much to her surprise less than two weeks later she had an acceptance and a signed contract in hand.  Since then she hasn’t looked back and currently has three books in her Grey River series set for publication.
